So now that Mike has confirmed this is not coming in (potentially december) - how much % drop do we think we will hit for a 3rd time in a row given nothing exciting is coming.Personally my excitement and hope for the game getting to a good state is heading to the bottom with lightning speed.
Next month should be pretty quiet if we speak of existing news to come
Time for bug fixes, analysis and decisions
What do you mean? Season 2 was an increase from previous season. There was a huge drop in Season 1, Season 2 doubled the players, Season 3 halved them again.
Why would nothing exciting be coming? We just know skill sigils wonât be coming next season. We have no idea what will be coming. I doubt there will be nothing.
The only things that could remotely excite me at this point are:
- a lot of new exciting skills with gameplays not seen until now accompanied by many new items
- jewel type items like in POE that give amazing flexibility in building
- new masteries / total rework for old ones with changes to their skills
- ultra enhancement of endgame with a lot more depth, decision making and variety (not corruption unga bunga increase and that it)
- at least 1-2 new uniques for most skills / or skill families (you could put this into the first point)
- sets that actually do something
- rework of how we interact with legendaries (I do not think the LP system is good - many people will probably disagree so this is an optional personal preference)
A minimun of 3 out of these would make me excited again (with the endgame one a mandatory one apart of the others) - otherwise I donât see myself playing for more than a few days then getting to the same old boring stale cycle.
I want the game to be able to capture my attention and time for more than a week tops. With all its flaws 0.3 in POE2 is doing a great job despite their endgame also being a55 still.
There are still missing skills in some masteries. Weâre not likely to have âa lotâ of them, but weâll very likely get at least 1, maybe 2.
Thatâs just extra gear slots except they arenât equipped but are in your passive tree instead. They are functionally the same as idols.
New masteries arenât likely to come until the old ones have all the skills. A total rework of at least 1 mastery with changes to their skills is almost a guarantee since thatâs whatâs been happening since launch.
I have no idea whatâs coming in regards to endgame. Something will surely be added but no idea what. Personally, Iâd like to have something with their own area separate from monoliths so we have something else to do when weâre feeling bored of echoes.
This isnât likely to happen. There are almost 150 skills in LE. That would be a total of 300 new uniques. Even if you were to allow for broad families, that would be way too many new uniques to add. If they did add that many, most would be utterly unbalanced because thereâs no way to test that many in so little time.
All seasons have had a bunch of uniques that created new builds that didnât exist before. I donât expect season 4 to be an exception to this.
At least 1 new set is guaranteed to be added. Possibly more.
This isnât likely. At most weâll have more options like Havocs or unique/legendary rerolling.
That will depend on what youâre looking for in the game. Iâm still playing LE (and I havenât even played PoE2 0.3. There really wasnât anything new there to grab my attention).
I have yet to fully explore all the new builds created by primordials. Until I do, I expect Iâll stay engaged, since one of the things I love most about LE is trying out new builds.
If trying new builds isnât what engages you, then maybe you should specify what appeals to you in LE/PoE/other games of the genre that you wish LE had.
Oh, thatâs a shame
Whatâs the âbigâ thing in Season 4? If itâs another very small season mechanic like dino then I donât think retention will be very goodâŚ
In their old roadmap, new endgame bosses, skill sigils, and a transmog and dye system were announced for 1.4
New bosses will be cool.
I hope they will throw something else in instead of the skill sigils.
