Skill Points Randomly Unassign or just Disappear

Have had this A LOT, where earned skill points Unassign themselves. Example, a Level 17 skill, say Maelstrom, I gain a level in a lower skill, say Werebear, and the rest of my skills unassign a point somewhere, and are still Level 17, but say I gained a rank in them, and always seems to be a skill node with more than 1 point assigned, seems to Always be a Node that I maxed out, say 4/4, that drops to 1 less, 3/4. Took a while to catch what was happening, but happens a lot, mostly in the higher ranks 15+

i had similar and was thinking i must be swapping a piece in and out to compare damage but i know i have not and is always same with me a node i had 4 points in and then i am back to three in mealstrom to cast mutiples also in totem and gathering storm line also
