Skill meter indicator

I love french toast.

What end does this accomplish? I would wager a guess that you are going to be using your skills regardless, no? Sorry if that sounds rude and I am not necessarily against it, I just dont understand why this is needed.

I literally said Im not necessarily against it, dont change my words. Also, saying we should remove something thats already in the game because something else is not in the game is an odd take. Its cool if this is something you would like, just like its cool if the next person doesnt. By all means enjoy if EHG decides this is worth pursuing. For me, personally, it is fluff.

I have not played in a hot minute, but showing each skills experience in the skill menu would be good enough for me (which I assume it isnt based off this topic). In a few hundred hours of play I have never once wondered when the hell my skill is going to level up beyond when I respec at end game, but even then it didnt matter much because of how much exp you gained doing high level content.

Screen space and clutter.
Indicators take up space, there’s a ton of knowledge to be conveyed to the player and hence providing the important stuff without overwhelming the player is important.

Having an indicator when opening the skill menu is fine definitely, otherwise though not needed as other things are more important. For example conveying buffs/debuffs properly which is always an issue in Hack’N’Slash games given the large variety and hence much information to be taken in in a short timeframe.

The experience bar also is not very important, agreed.
Albeit it’s the foremost indicator of progression for a player… outside of the corruption and equipment, which each on their own aren’t a good indicator.

That’s a good point, albeit only viable during the campaign phase, which is either short as you’re used to going through it already (and hence take the shortest ways as much as possible) or at a time when players don’t have a full grasp on those systems yet anyway. This means that such in-depth decisions which rather fit with a well informed player which has end-game experience with builds and how changes affect them simply doesn’t need it at that time.

And @fknflo asked a simple question for clarification.

And here we are with you being agitated about it rather then helpful, aren’t we?
Sadly ‘people like you’ are to be found everywhere. Hypocritical to a fault without even realizing it.

So down from that high horse and back to reality. If you want only the devs to read what you write then send an E-Mail. This is a forum though, so tough luck.

i roughly read thru. fknflo upfront preemptively apologized if he sounded rude in his very first post which was unnecessary. but was a good gesture to tell you that he realizes it might sound stand offish. he also did point out he wants to find out “why this is needed”.

he even said he is “not necessarily against it” and you came at him saying you’re confused why he “would be against knowing”.

he literally asked you and in a very neutral manner imo.

you seem unnecessarily hostile towards him.

i dont like your netiquette. but besides that i will agree on your toggle suggestion. If it is an option, it can be a good to have for those who want it, those who dont need it can just not toggle it on.

I appreciate both of you, @ExSea and @Kulze, I knew after his reply this convo would go nowhere positive. Kinda wish I caught his deleted replies, it seems like they were full of unfound hostility. I can always use a laugh, but it is what it is. Thanks again guys.

Yeah, i don’t entirely get why people just delete their posts (this isn’t the first). :person_shrugging:t3:

usually i m too lazy to delete posts even. if i fucked up, i fucked up.

tho i did recently delete a post because the forum popped up a message saying i should just edit my replies into one huge ass post rather than spam 1001 different replies one after another.
