Hello, as we all know, there will be singeplayer and multiplayer in Last Epoch, and as a player that enjoy playing more by myself, hence i don’t really care that much about balance in the ‘’ my character is op’’ way, i would like to know, will you balance the game differently for the singleplayer and multiplayer part, or that would be too much of a work? I am just a bit afraid that the game will go PoE way of balancing, and every single league i might not be the one to decide what kind of character i would like to play and build, even though i never was following any build in Path of Exile, but making my own.
I believe atm the plan is to only scale HP of the monsters in MP. If this is true, it should make single and multi player pretty much the same.
It’s the same with Path of Exile, monster’s hp scales with number of party members, but i am more concerned about builds and skills. In PoE there are a handful of builds that works for most of the leagues, and when a new laegue start, when they add new skills, and look at skills that were used the most in the previous league, they like to nerf those, but not in a ‘’ it was waaay waaay to op, so we will make it weaker, but still fine’’ way, but gut them completly, to a level where it might still be useful, but only on a max lvl, min/maxed gear. I am just afraid that they will only balance game in the multiplayer perspective, and not singleplayer at all.
Wouldn’t that kind of break area of effect buffs. I.e. if you have 4 people. 2 have damage taken reduction auras and 2 have healing. Every single player will wind up taking less damage than what is normally given by single player buffs, and receiving double the healing one would normally get.
If hp really is the only thing that scales it feels like multiplayer would make the game much much easier.
lol. I in no way understand this level of game development. I was just stating what I believe I read on the forums. Ill try to dig it up when I get home.
I would assume MP would have some affect on buffs etc. Maybe multiple instances from different sources dont stack. Maybe theres diminishing returns on healing in a given time frame.
What I will do… is wait and see!
They said multiple times that there will be no “better” mode in the game between multi and single. Therefore, both modes will be balanced and tuned in order to deliver the same level of fun. We now have to see how this materializes and what it really feels like, but their will is really to go in a very positive direction.
But u need to scale the damage of monsters as well couse there is 4 of u so chance for monster chousing hitting u is 25% its not so simple as u said
