Before I start, I would like to make clear - I think the current item filter is great, and a massive boon to the game. Although, it can be a little daunting to new players.
I think it would be nice if there was a simplified version that was toggled on by default, and if you so choose, can switch back to the current implementation.
A simplified filter could look a lot like the armour screen. In each gear slot, you can add some number of affixes. The concept being; you want those kinds of items with the added affixes. This makes it very visual as to what you would like to find, and easy to interpret.
Additional options to above could include:
- A selection to set either: âOnly show items with selected affixesâ, or âEmphasize items with selected affixesâ
- Show all unique items
- Show all exalted items
Maybe thereâs some more nuance to figure out, but a nice simple filter to get players started (and probably even veterans early game) would be really cool (in my opinion 
).
Bonus points if there is a button to convert your simple filter into the current âadvancedâ filter
