Sigils of Hope and Holy Aura should have the Fire tag

Considering that Volatile Reversal is considered to be Void without actually having anything to do with Void by default, I feel like the Paladin’s buff spells should get some love:

  • Sigils of Hope adds Fire damage, so that’s a no-brainer.
  • Holy Aura doesn’t do anything Fire-y by default, but gets Ignite Chance from Rayeh’s Devotion, global Fire Damage from Burning Blows, and Flame Burst does what it says on the tin.

Just asking.
What would be the benefit? Is there a +fire skill you have in mind? Or is that for something else?

Sparing my sanity. I’ve been doing game design for ten-odd years and it drives me insane when there are inconsistencies like this.

But why should Holy Aura get any damage tags at all? It doesn’t do any damage and the only way it could benefit if from any +elemental/fire skills effects. Same for Sigils, IMO, the only tags it should get are from the Divine Flare (fire) node and if you have that node but convert it to void.

I get that you want consistency though.

Well, it’s like I said: Volatile Reversal is considered to be a Void skill even though it does not deal Void damage or have any Void effects by default, and it’s completely possible (though not particularly advisable) to maintain that up to 24 levels worth of skill points. It just irks me to see that Volatile Reversal gets tagged as Void and other skills that give specific kinds of damage bonuses (Sigils of Hope’s added Fire Damage, for example) do not have an elemental tag associated with them even though those bonuses are subject to other modifiers.

It is possible for Holy Aura to deal Fire damage with the Flame Burst node.

Yeah, I don’t think that VR should get the void tag either.

Holy Aura doesn’t do the damage, it allows other skills to apply an ailment that then triggers the Flame Burst spell when reaching a specific number of stacks. This is different to, say, Aura of Decay having the poison tag because AoD applies poispn stacks directly while Holy Aura doesn’t apply the Flame Burst ailment stacks directly.
