Shroud of Obscurity's Class Lock

What are everyone’s thoughts on opening Shroud of Obscurity for all classes?

Rogue would benefit from this, and I would love to build around it by playing a rogue! I understand the potential of doing a dodge build for acolytes but there’s nothing in the passives that support that.

I don’t see how any acolyte build would be able to fit dodge in ontop of everything else needed to be viable. I might be wrong so anyone who knows a build that does this please share!

This ends up making Shroud just a worse version of Exsangiunous which is a shame because Shroud looks really fun to build with dodge. I am running Shroud myself but that’s only because I haven’t found a proper Exsang to replace it.

Ghostflame, Profane Veil, there’s probably something with lich but haven’t test that mastery much. Acolyte can use dodge fine.

@Klainhz I see the nodes for Warlock which makes sense. Necromancer and Lich don’t have any way to scale dodge though, (I double-checked! lol)

ya that’s true, but they both can use ghostflame so not that bad, the case is that it’s more of a niche unique that is also used as a budget option to exang. Sounds like a good example for something class locked ,at the end of the day Ward is more of a Acolyte thing than Rogue

Good points!

Wouldn’t you say though that the whole point uniques is to be build enablers? The fact that ward not something that a rogue would normally use that could be enabled through the unique for eaxmple.

Exsanguinous and life to ward conversion enables builds that normally don’t access ward to be able to build into. Why not the Shroud as well so that we can see more builds utilizing both instead of one being a worse version of an item. Excluding some interesting niche builds that can be used with it with Warlock/Wraiths)

As it stands Shroud is a niche budget item ,as you said, but that seems disappointing considering that it could very fun for other builds that want to play ward but use something different than exsang. I also think we have enough leveling uniques and not enough fun build-changing uniques.
