I am a Rune of Shattering fiend. I constantly buy the entire supply the shop has, but then I have to leave the zone, and re-enter the zone for the shop to refresh. It would be really nice if the shop just had a “X gold to refresh” option like the gambler and other systems like prophecies have.
I know some people don’t see the shop having any value, but I get quite surprised by some of the items sometimes. It also makes it easy to find gear that has a specific affix you are looking for, so you can buy the gear and shatter it for the shards.
If youre currently traveling in and out of the same town, you can cut the loading screens in half by traveling back and forth between two different towns, just in case you havent thought of that (one shop per town = one loading screen per shop inventory).
I have also noticed that the average volume of shatter shards per shop seems to have gone up from the 0.92 release, so hopefully you can get enough to satisfy you.
Did they change the system at some point?
The shop used to refresh on a timer, not on leaving/re-entering, precisely to avoid people having to do that. 10 minutes I think, not entirely sure about the timing, it’s been a while.
Also, shopkeepers used to be all the same everywhere, so players don’t feel like they “have” to travel all around the world every 10 minutes.
Ah yes, I have actually done the town to town thing, but it was easier to just explain it as leaving and coming back.
I am definitely loving the drop rate of shards, and the shops usually have 5-10 Runes of Shattering, but sometimes it’s also the gear I wanna have a peek at. It’s crazy how good some yellow items can be.
To be fair to them, I have had absolutely zero issues with loading screens or anything for days now. (I also had minimal issues after the first two days of launch had passed)
I just think it was one of those things that were restricting for pretty much no reason. A part of the community see the shop as a waste of time, so if they add a bunch of limiters to the shop, it would make it even worse. Definitely did the right thing with having it refresh on zone refresh, but I still wish there was a refresh button like they have at other vendors.
Absolutely the best solution is to set a refresh for some small amount of golds that will increase with each click and will have a timer at which it will reset after 10 minutes
