Shield Throw

Well, nothing on the skill mentions that the projectile pierces through targets either. Unlike Javelin or Hammer Throw.

I tried out the “blender” with Spam setup, and sometimes it hits 3 times, and sometimes it only hits 2 times, so the piercing hit is also unreliable.

I lied I’m still gonna read here but yeah I did hear via a few YT’ers that the ring was “bugged” but as mentioned even having it up the shields dont hit targets outside all the time either it’s a wonky ol’ goat at the best! I’m still made about the reduced cooldown I was down to 1 second in my head with a couple of 10% rings… ah well back to the “sheep” gring lol

PS where did you even learn about that calculation - can you picture someone buys the game, sees the text and then does what I did? I’ve got 500+ hours and had no idea, thats rough hiding stuff from general folk

Just to add onto what Kzb said, the stat is actually ICDRS not CDR. Increased Cooldown Recovery Speed works a little differently as it doesn’t reduce the cooldown by that percentage, it increases the rate that the charge is recovered at. So if you’re getting 1 charge recovered every 10s, 100% ICDRS makes the speed double and you recover 1 charge every 5s. 200% makes it 2.5s.

Which is weird cos if a skill is 6 seconds cool down then its getting a charge every 6 seconds, that whole sentence to me makes no sense. 6 seconds IS 6 seconds lol, I’m not getting a charge any sooner on the cool down. Ugh. These guys man

Why not?
You should get 1 charge in 6 seconds. 100% CDR (or ICDRS) makes the speed double, so you get 1 charge in 3 seconds. If you get it to 200%, it’s 1 charge in 1.5 seconds.

Because it’s cooldown recovery speed, not cooldown recovery.

No, 100% CDR would reduce the cooldown to 0, CDRS increases the speed at which it recovers, hence doubling it halves the time it takes to recover.

You’re misunderstanding. Imagine if the skill requires 6 units of stuff to fully recharge. You gain 1 unit every second so it takes 6 second to recharge. If you double the recovery speed you now gain 2 units per second rather than 1, hence it takes 3s to fully recharge.

Yeah, I just placed both acronyms because players will usually refer to CDR when talking about ICDRS.

Then those players are stupid. It’s like confusing time & distance (genuine brain farts notwithstanding).

You leave my Kessel run alone!

That, at least, is slightly different. If you have a faster ship you can safely get closer to a black hole without being sucked down into it, so the distance you can do a round trip around a group of black holes is a valid proxy for speed, the faster you can go, the closer you can get to the black holes the shorter the distance you need to travel.

You guys are actually so fkn smart - question, if its 6 seconds round but you’re saying theres a charge before that how come I can only use it once every 6 seconds and not when theres a charge which I assume ummm its 11pm I dont know how many seconds haha!

Also @Llama8 if you’re saying " No, 100% CDR would reduce the cooldown to 0, CDRS increases the speed at which it recovers, hence doubling it halves the time it takes to recover." then my point about 50% should mean the cool down is 3 seconds not 4? Omg this is so rough on my old man brain I am trying to comprehend haha! Night! I’ll pick this up at about 7am <3

That was just some malarkey they came up with to justify their ignorant blunder. It’s even worse than the whole “Han shot first” rigmarole.
To that I say “Pshaw”, good sir. “Pshaw”, I say.

I really don’t understand what you meant here.

No. 50% would mean you recover 50% faster. So it would reduce from 6s to 4.5s.

As Llama said, if you have 100% it will halve the required time (6s → 3s).
200% would halve it again (3s → 1.5s).

It’s probably easier if you use the formula Psojed posted.

It’s not my fault the physics supports it.

No, 50% CDRS → 6 / (1+0.5) = 4s. 50% CDR = 6 * 50%. There are very few examples of CDR in LE, almost all of it is CDRS & where there is CDR it’s either on a skill node or a passive threshold bonus so you can’t scale it.

Please tell me you didn’t use a calculator to do that. What does 6 / 1.5 = ?

I will accept your apology in good quality chocolate, you’re European so you probably know what that means.

No, I just wrongly assumed that half the value would be half the reduction. It was a mental fart.
But, to be fair, I was Pshawing at the time.

To be fair, you are a man & should know that you can’t multitask. Pshawing clearly takes more brain cycles than you can spare to think complex thoughts such as 6 / 1.5.

So with the forumla if I got 80% from 30 on boots, 30 on belt, 10 on each ring (type of ring has it as a base) thats 80% then I go 1 + .8 = 1.8 and then 6 divided by 1.8 which gives me 3.3, so this skill siege breaker adds 100% damage but you can only shoot a shield every 3.3 seconds then the best part is the direct linked attack speed buff frenzy for all that attack speed bonus you want while waiting, LOLLLLLLL - anyways most classes use this skill as a buff which is sad and shows how crap the rest of the tree is as the top left people only use the extra richos and 1 point in bounce your shield off your bros.

Over all you literally HAVE to take fire base for the damage, block/block effective (then lose resist while shields out) then crit/crit multi and then your leech/more rico’s.

Direct top no one ever uses the bleed etc either.

I hope one day I can actually be as smart with this game as you guys and this is legit not a condescending tone because so much of the stuff I make up in my head fails then I come here to cry like a lil bitch and you guys then tell me why I’m wrong hahah
