Hey so I uh, love shield throw. It’s tanky and fun and you can run decent corruption with it. However due to some particulars with the style it is you require a couple of things.
1: You can use ring of shields (frog in a blender)
2: You can use manifest armor (clunky weak minion)
3: You can use neither and map good but single target goes to poop
I was wondering if you might consider a couple of things…
1: Allow the shield when piercing a single target to bounce off terrain like in POE1
2: Have a carry over shield throw specific node in the skill tree that stops manifest armor being insta-killed so easily
3: Looping back in number 1 because I hate minions and would love a dmg buff + rebound
Reason being is even with great top tier gear you can really only kill normal Abby. I did see a shield throw using timerot as the main dmg source kill uber abberoth but its a specific build where this guy basically uses any skill currently + time rot along with any weapon to kill uber, it’s kinda whack.
A normal fire build of shield throw ie - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_j2OgTnbts
or a phys version which does less dmg just really isn’t uber viable because he insta kills manifest and you summon, he dies etc nekkkk minit no armor dead all while doing no dmg because you’re spamming summon. You can try with ring of shields but then you die because you literally need to be standing on top of him, lol.
I just think it could use a nice little play style tweak - terrain bouncing would be insanely helpful you could then play smart and position bosses near the edges - or add something to enhance single target a lot because without the ricochets it really does nothing even when your tool tip says 3 million + just fleas bouncing against a rock lol
If you love this class and play it every season multiple times trying to make it better raise your hand and +1 this thread because I do. If you don’t then please just leave a hug comment and move on OR if you have a cool idea on the mechanic or play style please chime in! My PoE1 legacy char, my fav of all time in POE1/2 so good, maybe I could just import it ![]()
