If you use shield rush trying to get into Lagon area to fight him, sometimes the tentacle spawns and forces you out of the area and triggers the fight inside. SS: https://imgur.com/Bo1G1Fd
Yip… This is a known issue with old Lagon… Hope the devs get around to fixing him soon because the list of odd things that happen in his fight is getting quite long… 
This used to happen with Shield Rush into The Tomb of Morditas arena in the campaign but that one got fixed.
