When I try to break down items with a Shatter rune, the item stays but the rune is consumed. I don’t see any mechanic on the rune stating that there is a chance the item will not shatter.
There seems to be a visual bug where the Rune of Shattering doesn’t always reflect the correct number in the inventory list. I have done a bit of testing today to try and narrow it down. Here is what I was able to come up with. It seems that if the Rune of Shattering is left in the Forge the amount does not update in the inventory (meaning that if you use all of them up it will still show that you have some in the inventory list but it will not let you actually shatter the item). I have found 2 things that will “fix” this at least temporarily. 1, if you transfer crafting items into the material list via the Transfer Crafting Items button the Shattering Runes number seems to update. 2, if you change the Rune of Shattering from staying in the Forge (either craft something on an item or just change it from Rune of Shattering to a different Rune) you can watch the material list immediately update as soon as the Rune of Shattering is replaced with something else
That actually makes a ton of sense. Just tested on my end to confirm. I now just completely clear my forge after I finish. Started off as an annoying bug, but ended as satisfying blacksmith RP haha. Appreciate the response!
