Shaman has a ton of various skills and nodes that are lightning based. Every one of their signature skills can produce lightning and lightning based buffs (even Earthquake). Tornado is also a DoT spell and Maelstrom (though not signature to Shaman) clearly fits into it thematically.
But there is no support at all for Electrify in Shaman. Sentinel’s Javelin seems to have the market cornered on Electrify. (Mage has some with Static but it isn’t much.)
Is this intentional? I’d like to see Shaman get some good Electrify boosts.
And before the comments start, I know Shaman has problems from the get go. And those are covered in other suggestion posts.
I believe that they simply have not gotten to it yet. Javelin is a relatively newer skill (patch 8.3). Both electrify uniques are also from that patch. Before then, electrify had very little support, I am not sure it even existed before the patch.
I don’t think shaman received any major changes since patch 8.3. So, when shaman finally gets its rework, we can hope.
There’s also no support for Electrify in Mage too (any of the 3 masteries) which are also lightning based classes.
Electrify seems to be a Paladin specific mechanic as it seems linked to the golden lightning of Sentinel as opposed to the blue lightning in Rogue/Mage/Primalist.
Its probably been said before but the Shaman exclusive Lightning passives kinda piss me off with how useless they are.
This I 100% agree with. It’s probably like @GiraffaGonfiabile said and because Shaman hasn’t been really updated in years. So hopefully, when they do it, they’ll add some good Electrify because of any class of the 15 Shaman should be the Storm Lord.
