Shaman is the mastery which has the most totem support, so logically building a full totem build you want to go Shaman, sadly not. Druid Hp and endurance stacking makes it that even losing a little bit of dps from shaman mastery, u still want to go thorn totems druid, cause 20% hp and 10% more endurance is too good to skip. Something went horribly wrong here.
either druid needs a nerf or shaman mastery/passive tree needs more to boost totem dmg to even be worth considering.
Idk if it was somwhere suggested. I spend probably half of my 1.8 k hours playing shaman totems and it’s really hurting.
Like you said, druid has a better mastery, and thorn totems are always better in spriggan. Almost all thorn totem builds go spriggan it eases mana, lets you use rage mechanics, etc.
I think shaman needs a unique defense mechanic to make it really be a viable option. Druids get tons of health, beast masters get good access to dodge, shaman gets… lightning procs.
Also most of the good totem nodes are in the first half of shaman, so you lose nothing by just going druid and putting 30 points into shaman anyways.
You are not alone I guess is the tldr. Shaman/totem fans have been waiting a long time for shaman to get some love, but sadly it does not seem to be time yet. Druid gets more reworks to its stuff though : ^)
As far as i know Shaman is currently the oldest tree in the game. Totem builds should be druid - for the buffs from Entangling Roots. There are some working shaman builds - Mistia’s EQ build is absurdly good as an example.
Right side of Sorcerer ain’t that much better tbh.
looks clunky in the video and i can see it being destoyed in the arena, not to mention all those totems will be one shot in the arena so u would hipotetically need to cast them all the time (so we go back to perma spriggan form), basic spriggan thorn totems druid seems better even though it’s an average build - nowhere near absurdly good
just play it in arena and u will probably see, this is for me a “dummy” build single target and clunky, also monolith run showed in the video, when skipping all the mobs, it will be 0 fps gameplay, absurdly good build has everything and is good in every game mode, out of nothing at least there is something to play as a shaman
i would still probably play shaman classic spriggan thorn totems if i had to play anything as a shaman, but again druid is better with the same setup so we came back to the tittle of the topic
yes and then read again topic title, topic is about totem damage dependent builds and where game balancing went horribly wrong (overpowering druid defenses so much that u even want to spec totems damage build as a druid even though shaman as a mastery has totems and has the most totem support on the tree).
as @DiceDragon mentioned the tree is outdated and more than a half of the upper shaman tree is just meh or nonsense
I played a full totem build where the ones dealing damage were the totems and not you with ice thorns, and the problem is shaman putting totem summon limit on skills and not on the passive tree, the whole shaman skills and passives are convoluted they should choose a more direct approach with totems and give more sinergy to the shaman that don’t use totems.
