Same thing. Game crashing when there’s nobody to play it. What did you expect ?
I believe this boss can be beaten by purchasing the new supporter packs, then waiting 24 hours. If that doesn’t work wait a bit longer.

I played roughly 800 hours of Last Epoch in early access. I have not played since release in any meaningful way due to the server issues on each launch. I have been consistently unable to play the first few days of each launch with my friends when everyone is available and takes time to play, and the community is most active.
Last Epoch may be the game for me, but I’ll never find out until you fire whatever service is in charge of your online connections.

Does an offline game also require a server connection?

Depending on their server architecture/setup, it might not matter. They may have it established where the Login Server is before the Region Servers (which I’m assuming are the actual session handlers, and we all know assumptions aren’t fact, so take that with a grain of salt).
It may be the player selects the “intended” session handler prior to login to make it a smoother transition to the actual handler. It would make a weird kind of sense and I am just spit-balling, but that would mean all logins are handled through one chokepoint.
Otherwise, it just means each area (if they have their own dedicated Login Servers) are just that popular.
EDIT: To clarify, they aren’t “broken.” They’re clearly still reachable (given that you get a ping response in X ms). Patience, friends. Hold the line.

Same problem faced. LE-52 either offline or online mode. Today and last 3 days of trying to Enter / Play game. LE-52 always.
Play Online button doesn’t even work for me anymore… Feels like it’s getting worse not better haha.
It’s pretty embarrassing when it’s over half an hour after launch and every strimmer you watch are about to enter Act 3 with no fuzz.
