Yesterday on 4/17 at around 7 AM Est there was a server crash while I was playing on my LV 81 Marksman on hardcore CF. I was playing seamlessly up until then and all of a sudden my game started stuttering, froze for about 5 seconds and then my game closed completely. I logged back in already knowing my character would be dead because I was near mobs at the time and it was. This is extremely frustrating as I only play HC and my character is now dead at no fault of my own.
I know for certain this was a server crash and not on my end because I have an expensive rig and play thousands of game without issue. I know it was launch day for Season 2 and I was expecting some server issues with that so I’m not shocked, just disappointed that there aren’t counter measures in place for this.
I have a solution and I hope you immediately begin implementing it. In Path of Exile 2 you can pause the game by pressing escape and if there is any server issues or the game crashes for whatever reason the game will automatically pause until the player comes back. If pausing by pressing esc during play is something you don’t agree with then leave that out and only implement the automatic pause feature if there is a server issue or game crash by either party.
I love your game and had fun playing Season 2 but I won’t be returning unless this feature is in place.
