this is kinda why I wanted them to release the corresponding patch notes with the article. instead of 100 pages all at once

Stoked out of my mind for the sentinel changes! Favorite class before 1.2 and will definitely be my favorite after. LeLOGIN

Thank god for the SoH change.

SEASON 2 HYPE! Let’s go!!!

FINALLY Vengeance rework!! I feel like I’ve been waiting 5 years for this!

Will the two-handed requirements of certain skills like Void Cleave work with Forgemaster’s Might?

Me too

Am I understanding the Rot Grip tooltip correctly in that it scales with increases to melee attack, cast, or throwing speed, whichever is lowest, meaning that if I’m playing a melee void knight using Rot Grip, I’m punished (well, not rewarded) for only building melee attack speed and not cast/throwing speed even with 0 throwing/casting abilities?

That seems… wrong?

Looks very interesting. Definitely going to start Sentinel in new patch.

I do sorta agree,

But in initial planning it seemed busted cause I was just assuming highest.

Lowest means if you intend to play timerot as a main focus of your build, you need to consider omni speed boosts.

Using a sword is 30% untyped attack speed and cast speed thanks to the sent base tree passives. So that is 30% right there, Frenzy is another 20%.

it becomes much harder after that and likely not worth the investment vs other avenues like global slow chance.

You corrected yourself well, the existence of something that isn’t relevant to your build does not punish you. If getting cast speed and throwing speed is an inconvenience to your build, you can simply utilize only 3/4 of the passive.

But there are things like Frenzy, Blademaster, Anomaly and other effects that do not provide just melee attack speed, so even with 0 throwing and casting abilities you can have all the speeds.

THAT IS INSANE

For context shields can have damage affixes on, you can easily reach 200% increased damage with a shield alone. So this node essentially reads “you deal more damage and you are harder to kill”

Thats what makes it fun! You can get throwing and cast speed on random pieces of gear like throwing on ring and cast on gloves, makes the itemization really interesting actually. Considering you’re probably gonna be getting a lot of global chance to slow and global chance to apply time rot, this last multiplier with cast/throw/melee attack speed will be really impactful if you can squeeze out a bit more multiplier from it

It does not read as if it is limited to lightning damage, it reads as completely generic

I’m guessing Forgotten Knight will end up being BiS due to it having another 15% untyped speed on the sword as well as the set bonus being tailored to Timerot.
Also Anomaly for another 20%
Abyssal Echoes gives 20% generic attack speed (throw+melee) from nether coating so get another 20% cast speed from gloves to balance that.

With the frenzy+sword passive, should end up with around 105% more speed - damage which is not too shabby.

The only problem is if you are relying on say Frenzy for example, any timerots you apply when frenzy is not active will be having 20% less dmg and due to the way stack limit currently works, these can overwrite your stronger Timerots.

luckily we have easy ways to gain frenzy now, so we do not need to worry about the frenzy thing

but forgotten knight is not BiS, because a rare sword can have 50% slow chance, some void penetration and 140 to 210% increased damage(taking void damage and dot damage)

The 50% slow being more than forgotten knights 15% speed

Also a wand can have a bunch of cast speed. So real BiS is wand on one hand, sword in another. both having slow chance in their affixes

we can reach 100% more damage from slow, around 100 more from rot and around 60 from speed(before bonuses from things like haste/frenzy or from other skills boosting time rot stuff). making it 6.4 times mult, or 384 per time rot or 4608 dps before applying increased damage.
