Over 2 years ago now we where promised seasonal rewards would be added to the game. Now in season 4 they are still not in there. Please add seasonal challenges that give permanent mtx to give some direction / set some goals for the season. It’s not that hard to come up with a set of challenges and make a new armour set / portal mtx each season.
This is something that we would like to add to the game and discussions are happening. We know the community has been asking for them too!
Honestly, this is the differentiator for ARPGs in my book. Goals for a season that are only self-imposed (such as hitting level 100 or “Holy Grail” farming) isn’t nearly as engaging as goals that everyone is locked in on as a community.
The way D4 does it - bad. Too simple, too generic. There isn’t enough pizzazz!
The way PoE does it - good. Intricate, forces players to play ALL parts of the game, but they take a LONG time to do.
There has to be a middle ground, and Last Epoch is positioned perfectly to do it. Provide a solid reward system (free cosmetics ofc) and you’ll see more engagement for sure. To players such as myself, the season feels pointless without the challenges in place. Last Epoch is a breath of fresh air in the ARPG space, but without challenges, a feature that many players consider fundamental to the genre, the season feels a bit aimless in scope.
In PoE, I buy the $90 supporter pack every league that I 40/40 as a reward to myself and a reward to the devs for a wonderful job done. I’d love to have that same methodology here, where I can reward myself and EHG with a beautiful set of cosmetics (good job lately to the comsetic team btw) to celebrate the achievements of the season.
All in all, it’s SO engaging to have challenges for a players like me and my friends. Maybe it’s a bit of FOMO, maybe it’s the thrill of a challenge, but respectfully, it is absolutely the sole differentiator in whether I make a character this season.
