Finally got to play some Season 2 on the Steam Deck and seeing the controller updates in the patch notes had me excited.
The Good:
- The Loot Filter is actually somewhat navigatable on Controller now.
The Bad:
- Passive and Skill Trees are still a nightmare to Navigate with the D-Pad and Left Joystick. Forcing Right Joystick to simulate a mouse to select the node you want.
- Inventory has the same issue as the Trees, it’s so inconvenient to navigate with anything but the right stick. Edit: It’s not as bad as the Skill/Passive screens with the D-Pad, but it’s still better to use the Right Stick imo
- The Right Stick’s cursor is SLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW making the first two points even more painful.
- The new targetting is actually worse than the old targetting. That or I’m not understanding something. I’ll fire Bow Puncture at Void Bats that haven’t spawned and are farther away than the Exiled Mage actually fighting me, there’s no “lock on” like in GD or TQ to force targetting on an enemy, sometimes I’ll be firing Puncture accurately then go to throw Poison Vial into the same crowd, only for it to fling behind me at a single enemy who was further away and not in combat (Please, someone explain how this targetting is somehow “better” than the old proximity targetting, what am I not getting!?)
- You still can’t organize the loot filter with LB despite there being a tooltip for it
Overall, the loot filter was improved and the targetting was made worse while everything else remains the same.
