I think this is spot on but a natural drop vs a nemesis drop are two very different things. We farm armber to buy nems, we place 100s of them in a timeline we spend hours running into the interface, looking for the item ie armor, we then look at its affixes… is this exalted +T5? Is this 554 with an open slot etc then we run the gauntlet of RNG again (first time being rng that an item we want appears) so now we’re at step 2 of RNG, step 3 the upgrade will it hit? Yes! It does we have a 755 with an open slot - amazing, FP is climbing! Once more and hope for a 6 - BOOM nem says “yo eff you guy, here ill take that open slot, add a tier 3 and I’ll give you this random sealed affix, good luck crafting anyting on that because even if you had the luck to seal that T3 YA CANT BRO”
Nemesis is a specific way to target farm exalteds because you guys (and Mike admitted it on dev stream) over nerfed imprints which shows you obviously did no testing of the numbers you chucked on the nerf (probably the same with explosive traps 90% nerf)
We have no specific way to get good exalteds other than Nem, it should not add seals. Sure put them on random world drops - that 1 in 400 echos where you get a 77 (with likely 38FP) because you probably brick it first move with a 15FP seal or a 18FP adding tier 1 affix.
The problem is definitely sealed affixs. it’s been about 1260 hours since release (might be a few hours out) and I’ve played about 450 hours - you can check my profile on LETools. I have done enough attempted crafting this season to know that sealed affixs for myself and all the people I see complaining in global are infact an issue from Nemesis. I made a specific suggestion thread asking for them NOT to be a thing with Nem. World drops - fine, corruption - yes, Nemesis? Nope.
The statement that “the problem is not sealed affixes” is 100% correct. If you look at the very first line of my post starting this thread it reads
The problem is the imprint nerf and there now being no way to effectively farm for endgame 77+ exalted items items. My suggestion on sealed affixes was a potential alleviation of this problem for consideration.
But let me stop here and now as i have been far too emotionally invested in LE for too long and its now time to divest from LE emotionally.
I personally think alot of this stems from the fact that many builds try to use legendaries in every slot, so exalted items by themselves are not valued by their potential power, but just as legendary crafting fooder.
While natural sealed affixes raise the actual power of the item(if you use them directly as equipment), they remove a very deterministic crafting step that would make it a better and easier item for crafting a legendary.
Overall I think this is a general problem of LE still, that legendaries, especially on the very high end with 2, 3 or 4LP are outperforming most exalted items.
So maybe the root problem is actually that exalted items are simply too weak and not worth it.
That is a difficult problem to solve and I am not sure what could be done about it.
Couple random ideas:
Exalted exclusive base types or base type implicit buffs in general
A powerful effect that rewards you with great power for each exalted item equipped (so you want to run only a few specific legendaries) (Unique Idol maybe?)
Buffing sealing in general. Maybe sealed affixes have a %multiplier on their values on them like Body Armor and Amulets
I would love to see exalteds get more love - atm crafting some with T8’s for FG is so fun! But like you said the uniques especially things like world splitter with the crit multi per mana etc you kind of have to use them with some builds to get the most power. I’d love to see the things you mentioned introduced and have more play around exalteds because then at least you’re not 1 of 700 folks with the same weapon with the same 2 affixs slammed on it hoping for a unique corruption… even though a lot of people end up with the same there too, hah!
I love every point you made and if you put that into a suggestion thread and on discord I will upvote and like, 200 fricking percent! I am picturing natty seals going to T8 (or 9 ok dreaming) with a double exalt 6/7 and some FP to play around with - the 8 still being counted as seperate so you can seal another OR an you get freaky lucky and get a corrupted T5 you want, a T8 and then a 66 or 67 up top you can forge with and if you have special bases that actually do even more than the generic now it would make the game so epic.
Maybe a solution would be similar to the sets one where you can shatter uniques to get a “reforged” affix. That way you could have a significant affix that you could craft into an exalted.
That would be nice, if only they hadn’t removed the ability to vote on feedback threads.
I like the sound of anything along those lines too - this season with the set crafting it’s been really cool I mean, sucks running out of FP when you’re on a roll but yeah loving it!
I also didnt know they removed voting, thats weird!
