Pick “Safety Numbers” in a Beastmaster that has 3 companion limit
Summon wolves, change area.
It doesn’t always happens, but happens often enough - you’ll spawn with 5 wolves in the new area.
Screenshot:
Note my maximum companion on the character sheet (3) and my (5) wolves.
I imagine the node checks that it needs to summon 2 extra wolves to reach the max (1+2=3), but then summon 2 extra wolves again on area transition. This would probably result in even more extra wolves with addition companion limit, if that’s the case.
Increasing my Companion Limit to 4 reliably increased the amount of wolves I have after area transition to 7, as in the attached screenshot.
The bug happens whenever I transition from one campaign area to another by foot (doesn’t seem to happen with waypoints or such, also doesn’t happen when leaving town or other areas that you don’t have your companions).
If I level up and put a point in any passive, the extra wolves instantly disappear - I imagine the game re-calculates stuff at that moment.
May or may not be related, couldn’t test it: I’m using a helmet that gives +1 to Summon Wolves, and the skill that gets removed if I remove the helmet is preciselySafety in Numbers.
This too has been my experience, (out if interest) the claw unique does not seem to replicate this bug as I was using it prior to getting safety in numbers wherein the additional wolves started spawning.
I am also seeing this happen when equipping an item with +skills to wolves, assigning a point into my wolves, and de-equipping the item. The additional wolves spawn immediately.
Do you have the gear fixes that summon your minions after using traversal skill? Cause I can reliably get +5 wolves (the numbe of summons that teleport) when i jump and click to a new zone.
Not the gear affix, but I do have the node from Leap Strike that makes them leap with me. Though that one didn’t seem to affect the summoning directly.
