Really interesting take on idols, though I do fear the level of power creep that will come with it.

My thoughts exactly. Power creep keeps power creeping between seasons.
I really hope patch notes will contain some nerfs to offset it. Otherwise, Uber Abby will become a pushover.

Just double-checked with our dev team before I stuck my foot in my mouth. This is correct, because they always drop corrupted, they cannot be enchanted.

No, ruined items cannot be used in this manner.

Do these corruption affixes have their own unique affix “slot” or do they apply to an existing one, like the one used for sealed affixes?

Their own special slot - corrupted sealed affix.

Yes, you missed the part where attribute scalers still work as if they had not been converted. This goes for passives, skill tree nodes, and the skill scalers off attributes. They didn’t spend much time on it or provide examples, but if a skill adds flat damage or percent dmg based on your Dexterity, then it will still do so off your Guile. Likewise, effects that scale off your Dexterity will still scale off your Guile. Mike elaborated on this during one of the Friday streams.

So basically a straight copy of corruption in POE. Wouldn’t have minded some additional creativity here. Honestly, corrupting items is my most hated aspect of POE. RNG to find a good item, RNG to craft, RNG to improve items, then an RNG to destroy the item. It suuucks.

I will never make a dual wield build in this game because you take more damage dual wielding which makes zero sense. Hopefully EHG you remove this, you already take more damage because you don’t have a shield.

I’m definitely not going to use an item that increases the damage I take. So definitely not excited about most of these mods or effects. I really hate design concepts of 1 step forward 2 steps back. A corruption that increases damage over time taken but this is the most broken damage in the game. Yea think a lot of players are gonna pass.

Hopefully you are willing to recook some of these ideas.

It’s not to balance against no shield it’s to balance against 2H weapons. Dual Wielding would almost always be better than 2H.

That makes even less sense lol. I hope you are joking. No way they did that design choice because of this.

If you want to balance against 2 hand weapons then balance damage and items. Pretty simple solution and how you would do it.

Not using a shield is already a penalty don’t need a double penalty for dual wielding. Again hope EHG can recook some design and corruption ideas moving forward.

Then buff 2 hand? Geez.

Dual wielding is opt-in and not available everywhere. If you buff 2H, you sway people to use them that don’t have access to Dual wield. You already make the tradeoff of not running a shield in many cases, but don’t gain too much additional offensive power. Dual wielding trades off that defensive option for a lot more offensive power, the disparity then exists between two 1H weapon and 2H weapons. It’s why on FG there is a downside to running a 2H and shield because you get both offensive and defensive power.

Not a single one of the amulet corruptions works for summoners. I think imma just pass on this season.

They did. The increased damage stats you get from dw’ing is why we get an increased damage taken.

Why? Why should 2h be higher dps than dw or vice versa?

I wonder how many players will avoid corrupting amulets because of alternative attributes
100dex? no 400 dodge rating for you, reduced armor 100% haha now run or die. Awful
