There is a sub-skill called Energy Wave in the Sentinel’s Rive skill tree.
I would like to confirm whether this sub-skill actually benefits from the bonuses of the Rive skill tree. In actual gameplay, its damage feels far too low.
Additionally, when Rive is converted to Void damage, the visual effect and damage type of Energy Wave do not change accordingly at all.
The development team has done an excellent job reworking Shield Throw, making its visual effects and mechanics fully match its Void damage conversion.
As a player who loves the melee Rive build, I sincerely hope the sub-skill Energy Wave can receive the same polish:Please update its visual effect to the purple Void theme, and let it properly scale with Rive’s skill tree bonuses, including **range, distance, and damage modifiers.
Rive’s damage may feel low, but you might find more of it when specializing in 3rd strike damage. Be mindful that the energy wave is not part of the combo and only procs with the first strike of Rive. However, I think it sounds like you’d rather have it be stronger in a different sense. For example’s sake, let’s just say that you ringing the 3rd strike damage down and the first 2 up some. At that point other nodes would have to be revisited. While skills often get updates and changes, this would require a bit of the skill to be rebalanced.
As far as the void conversion, visual changes are always fun to see (personally) but I will share your feedback with the team. So thank you! Again, welcome to the forums! Hope to see you in Eterra.
It would help if the wave were melee damage, or converted melee damage to spell damage, currently it’s at odds with the melee skill that procs it.
I think Savagery does work, but it’s hard to see & the higher number I saw doesn’t line up with the figure I’d have expected to see. Champion definitely doesn’t though I’d have thought it would since that node doesn’t specify a hit in the sequence.
