Rift Beast Icy Whirlwind feels a bit overtuned

I’m eating like 700+ a tick from it around level 40, when its lightning blast does 700 flat, and it’s coming out a bit too fast for me to react when I’m in melee. It’s not impossible I’m just bad, but it feels like it stands out to me really notably compared to its other attacks. If it could do, like, 250 a tick, that’d give me the half second I need to get out of dodge while still killing me if I’m slow on the uptake.

I’ve got 60% cold resists at lvl 33 and plow through all other bosses but usually die 10x a fight to this particular boss configuration

Yea definitely feels overtuned on this - some of the mobs damage calculation seems to be spikey as Raxx and others have said. I feel like I got armor 4k armor, max resists, and no critical damage taken and getting 5k-6k damage in a 100 corruption but then just 1 shotted. I gotta work on my gear a bit but dang this one hit like a truck during campaign too.

this shit is vastly overtuned, it spawns on him, it swirls around melee — needs to be nerfed yesterday already.

All of these posts are from before the patch that fixed a bug that was causing monsters to do more damage than they were supposed to be doing.

The damage enemies are doing has already been nerfed as part of this fix.

Yes I am aware of that bug existing as I was dying from crazy damage at just 100 corruption, but they are still doing crazy damage compared to EVERY thing else lol

It feels bad as the old Bats and their insane damage over time attacks that were nerfed.

Base damage and/or scaling of Rift Beasts is completely out of control as you go higher in corruption. I don’t know if it’s intended for people to be farming Rampant Coast at a much lower corruption than what they are normally farming, but they spam their abilities so often and so lethal (even to pets, which is another complaint i have) that you pretty much need to just try to one shot them.

I am at 1000 corruption, despite having 70% armor, 100% block chance with 54% effectiveness, with all sorts of DRs (quick count easily 30% at least) capped endurance with endurance threshold at about 80% of my hp with 3k hp 3k ward and 2k hp regen, not to mention about 30% of all damage going to my mana as well with a mana pool of 700, max resists and then some, 100% reduced crit damage. Rift beasts in the woven echo Rampant Coast are doing upwards of 7k damage with around 1k overkill to me with those whirlwind variations whether its the fire or ice one. Its just an instant death and there are several floating around for a decent amount of area denial and moving at a decent speed too. Its definitely feeling over-tuned. I would not mind them if they were slower, or there were less of them, or keep the speed and the number of them but reduce the damage. The problem is that its all of those lol

Same on 800 corr, with 2 red rings, titan heart and beastmaster’s Boar Aspect. Random 8k bites, and whirlwinds dealing 3-4k two times a second.
Plus beast’s animation allowing him to turn 360’ mid-animation making him sometimes undodgeable

Your Armor, Block and Crit Reduction provide 0% reduction on those whirlwinds, that’s why it hurts so much. Put 5 points into Iron Attunement for a quick fix.

I did not realize it was a DoT, dealt all that damage on the first tick it made me believe it was just hit lol Unfortunately I already had the 5 in there and am sitting at around 47% DoT taken reduction in addition to the other reductions that are able to be applied, so its really just a lost cause.
