Was wondering if the RGB support only works on Logitech keyboards?
Will this work with Logitech mouse (G600) - if so how would I go about configuring this?"
Is there a plan to make the RGB Support feature work with other keyboard manufacturers (i.e. SPCGEAR?).
Honestly, as a normal player with no access to the devs, I wouldnt bet on it. I have a supported Logitech keyboard and I disabled the feature and never use it. I never bothered to try and get it to work with my logitech mouse cause I didnt bother - during the heat of the game, I dont look at my keyboard or mouse at all, like ever, so I never understood the need. Its not like a more complicated game (and slower game) where highlighting many keys is actually useful. (Confession, I loathe RGB so I am baised).
On the technical side, its also had a lot problems as it borks on Linux implementations so badly that on longer playsessions crash the game (all because its meant to disable itself on unsupported systems but doesnt properly) and similar happens on Windows systems with older drivers or older Windows OS patches.
I think it was probably added because its supposed to be āeasyā to support with logitechs sdks etc and maybe a few of the devs at EHG have supported boards but beyond that I am not sure.
I wouldnt say its impossible that this āfeatureā may appear with other input device vendors but who knows. Its unlikely to be expanded until the game and other input issues have been fixed - i.e. controllers.
Truth be told, in your specific question, I have been around tech for a very long time and have never heard of the brand that you mention nor even seen a review video online or anything. Not much available via searches either - so either its really new or niche and that would probably mean that the demand to specifically support that brands gear may not be worth the devs time, purely because there arent enough users of the products.
https://spcgear.com SPC is relatively new - they make quality mechanical keys (and mice and other stuff too). I was just wondering really if that Logitech ādriverā for RGB would be compatible with other manufacturers or is it proprietary and works with their HW only
I just figured that leds flashing red when im low on hp would give me some incentive to put the game down and go to sleep at normal hours XD
Drivers are generally hardware specific. Back in the day there used to be different drivers for different hardware from the same manufacturer before they started doing much larger files containing drivers for all their hardware.
Only when itās red. Everyone knows that Red is for fast fast, Blue for low temps, and Green is for Eco-mode. Sheesh.
Personally, Iām not always a big fan of RGB, but can see its uses. Iād like to see some sort of support for something more open that could work with a wider arrangement of hardware., rather than a closed, proprietary locked to specific hardware by a single company.
Maybe instead of outright building it into the game, have an API or something and allow for something like OpenRGB or Aurora to plug into it and control your RGB hardware. Essentially, provide the means, and allow for parts of the community can come up with the rest.
Yeah⦠sounds like something Mike (senior dev that does the regular livestreams) would mess around with when he has a moment. Be great if the LE community got large enough to make something like that worthwhileā¦
