PoE1 used to have important MF affixes on gear but now only has increased rarity and it’s a mostly irrelevant affix that is mostly ignored by everyone.
PoE2 was the one where they backtracked and made it a super strong affix that was effectively mandatory. Maybe they’ll fix that as well. But for now, PoE2 is the only one of the big 4 that has a relevant MF affix on gear.
Nope, it’s nearly as powerful as Quantity was. The main difference is that currency has been changed into tiers which are affected by it a decent while ago.
It works exactly the same way in PoE 2. The core difference is that in 1 you get showered with loot overall so changes don’t feel substantial… whil in PoE 2 it’s a big scarcity still and hence any change feels very very substantial.
I think most long term players would disagree with you, considering that most of those creating builds even place disclaimers like “Doesn’t use MIs and it’s all target farmable”. That is mostly because, while some MIs dropped from a unique mob, most dropped from random ones (even if they were usually confined to specific areas). And especially because getting good affixes on one was something most players disliked due to the huge RNG involved.
Anyway, there’s no difference to LE in that regard. Not only do you have boss-specific uniques (lots of them), you also have specific drops you can target farm on exiled mages. And 1.2 will bring specific drops you can target farm on champions. The last two are basically the same as MIs.
That is promising for me. I’m not in the playtest group so I don’t know how the champion drops will work. I just assumed it was going to be completely random drops with a random champion affix if the mob was a champion. Random tier, random affix, etc.
No, from what they described, you juice up an echo and it will spawn a champion. I think a champion can also spawn randomly, but it seems there are ways to guarantee it appearing.
They were nonetheless sought after. Chase-items compared to ‘general build’.
Which is also an issue with exalted items in LE though, same situation.
Otherwise I agree with the argument there, but it also showcases some weaknesses in the LE system and GD system which need a look to be taken at and clarified. Core progression and chase-items should have a bit of a visible differentiation after all, content wise.
Yes, that is what I said. He said it was fun farming them. Most players didn’t. They wanted it because it was good, but it was a boring grind to farm them.
