I’m not posting this in the bugs forum because I’m not 100% sure I am not missing something, but I feel like my resting ward is lower than what it should be based on all my other stats.
I have 55% health lost per second / 55% missing health = ward per second, I have a max health of 2,283 (but i maintain 53 health, so missing health = 2230). I have 284% ward retention, 453 ward decay threshold and an additional 49 ward per second.
Based on the above, I would expect my resting ward to be 8,170… but it is 6917.
The numbers LETools reports aren’t quite the same as yours, but they’re close enough. If you plug those numbers into Tunklab’s ward calculator it actually calculates less resting ward than you seem to have (6876). It’s close enough to assume that it’s due to the numbers reported (both on LETools and on the game character sheet) not being 100% accurate.
One thing that also affects your ward (negatively) and you failed to mention is your regen, of which you have almost 30/s.
But the main reason why you have less ward than you expect I would guess is simply because of ward decay formula and the fact that it’s logarithmic. Also the fact that it was changed some time ago to be even more logarithmic than before so it cuts off at a much lower value.
No ones numbers make sense in LE. I have been playing a reflect build where DPS is literally a function of (flat damage x (1 + 6%x attunement)) that’s it, no other factors and the numbers don’t match.
It’s literally more surprising when the numbers given for a calculation do match the numbers listed in either the game or the planner than when they do not. Take the numbers in the planner or in the game, or according to any calculation as a rough rule of thumb.
That is not my understanding. The only things that affect reflect damage from thicket have to specify they affect flat reflect damage. (like thorn shell). My understanding is that generic increased damage does not count.
debuffs to enemies (increased generic damage taken) does count but that is not part of a DPS calculation.
I am always willing to be proven wrong, esp when it means i can improve my toon. How would we measure this to find out?
TBF, I could be wrong with that, I tested many (many!) years ago. Sky Warrior (Shaman) gives % increased damage. Unfortunately there’s no damage numbers from thorns.
