Hello, I come with a suggestion, when we are removing the points from a skill, give all the points back, if i continue with the same skill, if I remove the skill and choose another one then make it from 0 and to lv up.
So I have around 22h in the game so far, love it, I play a Necro, with a heavily build on minions and golem, and to my surprive Lv 40. decided to respec all my points in Summon Skeleton, and to my surprise, I only had 5 points, and the level was reset, this it’s a bit of a bullshit, I worked my ass to lv up that skill, I wanted to redistribuite my points, cus maybe I’m new to ARPG or I’m stupid or wanna try something else, but now I have to start again and lv-up, it’s not like I choose another skill, the same skill, why, o devs why.
Once you are at empowered monoliths, around level 70+ … It takes 5-10 mins or less to completely respec all 5 skills and get them back to level 20. It’s extremely quick to level them back to full. You just need to get further in the game for that to happen.
First of all… it shouldn’t be a surprise that you don’t get all points back. It pushes the notification that you won’t retain all of them onto your nose quite heavily at the tutorial in the beginning, so that part is entirely on you.
As for the suggestion itself. It’s a common one. This is handled so it’s impossible to switch builds before bosses for example and hence cause ‘optimized’ gameplay which sucks the fun out of the game for efficiency’s sake.
This is something which EHG won’t change, they’re looking closely about the rate of recovering skill points at a fitting pace though, early on it’s a bit too punishing and later on it’s more then fine, so some fine-tuning is definitely needed.
There’s a large popup window that told you this would happen before you did it. It should not have been a surprise.
You really didn’t. Leveling skills takes almost no time or effort, and while they’re not fully leveled the difference is mostly unnoticeable during the campaign. If you feel that getting to level 40 is “working your ass off”, then you’re going to have a very bad time in the rest of the game and this game may not be for you.
