Respawns on portal

I am wondering why if I portal to unload, why the map basically wipes progress. It gets frustrating navigating as I get all turned around. Hard to judge where I was going, where I was coming from. Ya I get XP but a say 2-3 minute timer would be nice.

It’s something that’s been asked for years, it’s something they want to do, it’s not something that’s technically easy to implement, probably due to performance issues.

Easiest way is not to port to town. You’ll be swimming in gold soon and selling items isn’t worth the time spent porting to town, selling and porting back. In that time you could have killed more mobs and gotten more gold.
As you reach endgame, gold becomes meaningless, other than for CoF and buying tabs.

If I don’t want a unique/legendary, I just leave it on the ground. Much more time efficient. I know it goes contrary to some games in the genre (although PoE is like that as well, only a few things are worth vendoring), but it is the way it is.

Gold value of items are low on purpose so you can just keep playing the game, rather than having to constantly stop to sell stuff.

Because EHG don’t care enough to implement this when it’s a year old demand. I’m pretty sure they can’t do it for whatever technical issue they can come up with.

In offline you actually do get some progress. The fog of war remains as it was, dropped stuff on the ground remains there, it’s just enemies that are reset (but so are shrines/nemesis/rifts/etc).
And this doesn’t work for monos, of course. Each is a new one.

That is why I think the issue is simply to do with server management, rather than the game not letting you do so.

I don’t care. It’s not my game and I haven’t descided to push it out when it was still making babysteps. i payed for it and want some basic functionality that somehow seems more complicated to put in then some science work.
