I’m looking for a particular weapon and wondering if there is a site somewhere that shows where it’s dropped, where it can be farmed. I went to LE Tools and looked it up in the Item Database but that just shows the item and its stats, not where to get it. Such a thing exist anywhere?

or at least it does when somebody else is farming, but not when i am 
Ah, well the item I’m looking for is just a common L70 rare mace, Doom Star, and when I look it up, all I see is the description. Maybe they only show drop location for exalted/unique/set, etc.? Where exactly did your link come from? I looked under the Item Database, maybe I’m looking in the wrong place?
as far as i know only uniques can be targeted, and not all of them. I chose apathy’s maw as an example because i knew it could be.
if you are talking about a normal item, then no, you will just have to pray to RNGods.
i’m not sure what you mean. It came from the LE tools database. i think the problem is that you are looking for target farming of a normal item.
Any world drop (basically anything that isn’t a boss drop) can drop in any zone with an area level above it’s item level. World drops can drop from mobs as well as chests/breakables.
So for your Doom Star, you can get it in any lvl 70+ zone.
