Resistance caps / mitigation numbers

Hiya, I asked in game but some site I was suggest tunklab doesn’t seem to exist…

I was just hit for 852 phys hit, I have 42% phys (doing empowered monos at 82) I was curious how much that 852 would drop if i was at 75% resistance, would it take off 33% from that 852 if it was capped if not could someone help my dumb ass out so I can work out which resists to try cap of the few not capped since I can’t do them all at once, thanks!

thanks! Google didnt show that at all!

Just looking doesnt seem to be a resistance calc at all, lmao ah well i’ve raised them in game one can only hope that common sense prevails in terms of raise phys resist, phys damage does less lol

That’s a fairly basic math problem, percentiles.

If you take 852 at 42% resistance that means you only take 100%-42%= 58% damage.

The easiest to remember way for percentiles is to reduce everything to ‘1%’ of something and go from there.

So… if 852 is 58% then you hence divide 852 with 58 (852/58) and you got your 1%

If you have 75% resistance you only take 25% damage.

Hence you take your 1% and multiply it by 25.

Then you have your answer.

Absolute fkn legend, thank you <3!!!

Actually, that’s not true at all because you’re not taking into account negative resistances. And it’s also dependent on the area level.

So if he’s in an area level 0, he took 2028 damage, mitigated by 42%. This means that at 75%, he would have taken 507.
Your formula would be (852/58)x25=367 which is wrong.

If he’s in an area level 75+, his 42% would be an effective -33%. So he took 640 and damage was increased by 33%. At 75% he would take 640 damage.
Your formula would still be 367 and would still be wrong.

You can press “G”, by default, and look into the ingame guide. It has a lot of informations in it if you want to check something on the fly.
