And remove all references to “skeleton” or “skeletal” (or anything possibly semantically equivalent) in the skill tree of skeletal mage (and possibly in the model of the minion? but that’s okay if not).
This would help avoid the confusion where skeletal* mages are technically not skeletons… especially when the text clarifying the issue is, afaik, only in the alt text of a passive node. (unbound necromancy and tyrant’s legion)
And while we’re at it perhaps add some text to every spell saying that the skill is different to every other spell and should not be confused. Ditto for melee, throwing, bow and other minion skills.
Definitely. They should also add text below characters on creation specifying that a Rogue is not an Acolyte, Mage, Primalist, or Sentinel (and vice versa), as well as the passive trees, to make sure that everyone knows that a Void Knight is not a Paladin even though a Paladin is really kind of a knight.
I don’t know why this is such a contentious subject. If wording is antithetical to the application, why not try to rectify it? Skeletal Mages are described as “skeletal”… Referencing merriam-webster…
That’s because skellie mages aren’t skellies. It’s quite clear from the skill trees, I’m pretty sure the skellie mage skill can’t summon skellie warriors & the skellies skill tree can’t summon death knights/pyromancers/etc.
For the record I agree with you. There’s a reason the passive tree has to explicitly state “This does not apply to skeletal mages.”
Skeletal Mages should be renamed to something else to avoid confusion. I think keeping their trend of Cryomancers, Pyromancers, Death Knights and Death Mages is a perfectly fine suggestion.
