There are a lot of issues with movement when using both WASD and LMB to use skills.
From attacks being ‘stuck’ to not being able to target enemies at times. This makes it infuriating to play with WASD, especially as a melee character.
I understand that it’s a experimental feature, but I believe this can all be solves quite easily by removing the ‘move’ command from LMB when using WASD. Nobody will need that anyway when using WASD.
I do tend to use the LMB move function quite a lot when playing in the WASD mode. I’m against that idea if it isn’t implemented as a toggle.
Why do you even press LMB during gameplay when you have no need for it?
To cast skills. It’s easier to press a mouse button than use another key when using WASD. PoE2 has no movement on LMB when using WASD and I’ve never needed it.
I can see that. But IMO simply removing the move function for all players would be one step forward for some of us, and a step back for others.
In the case you described the problem would also be resolved if EHG finally manages to make UI interactions no longer click-through, right? That would definitely be something I’d support. It’s infuriating that your character moves or does something else you don’t intend in the background when you click on things in the UI (inventory, stash, prompts, skills, etc.). Then you can activate skills without having to worry to move your character while I can still use the move function during gameplay.
Unfortunately, no. That won’t fix it. There’s a problem with WASD and LMB to use skills.
If you use WASD and LMB on an enemy to use a skill, that skill will continually be used. You can’t move or attack with any other skill untill you LMB the ground again. I made a clip about it (note, I didn’t use my LMB once in this video) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM32SePS8ag
Honestly, I fail to see how LMB to move has any use in any case when using WASD. The only thing that has any use is when you want to destroy breakables with a melee skill. But ‘move to melee attack’ should be able to handle that.
I think this will be a step forward for 99% and a step backward for 1%.
I don’t see how that would require to disable a feature when fixing the underlying issue would be enough.
Precise positioning in 1000+ monos (or even before that). Or in some builds I prefer to do certain interactions with LMB while everything else is handled via WASD. Having to switch between WASD and mouse movement via settings every couple of seconds/minutes is simply not feasible.

A bug is not a feature. The fix IS to remove move from LMB. You can’t have two simultanous movement skill. That will 100% of the time give issues.

I wonder why it works for 100% of the 500.000 players in PoE2 though, where positioning is way more important. I honestly think you are one of 10 people who enjoy moving with both mouse and WASD at the same time
