Remove echo change its utter garbage

Remove the changing of objectives mid echo - I target farm echoes and expect to do them - chaning is utter garbage and is brekaing the game - REMOVE NOW or lose more people

Is this intentional? I figured it was a bug.

EDIT: I read the patch notes again, and its ambushes, so yeah intentional.

Ambushes were also added ~3 months ago in 0.9.1.

They did add the possibility for an echo to start with a regular objective and then change to an ambush. I find it quite fun and thematically correct with the concept of ambush. Better than “hey watchout! We are ambushing you”

Yes, according to the patch notes the objective for an echo boss could just be subterfuge to lead you into an ambush.

Personally I like this change, but think it happens too often. For me it’s been ~60-70% of the time which should only happen maybe ~10% at the most in my opinion.

Is there still non hidden ambush echoes?
I can’t play at the moment

Does the reward or mods change? As long as those aren’t smoke 'n mirrors I’m not sure why the subterfuge for an ambush is that much of a problem. I’ve been leveling a runemaster so haven’t hit monos yet since patch.

Yeah, I like this too…but often the ambushes don’t feel different enough from regular enemies, so all of a sudden it says “Echo Complete” and I’m like, “wait, where’d the dragon go?”

I don’t recall having an “ambush” goal yet but I can’t be sure it’s still a possibility.

No, the reward is the same and aside from the objective being a secret ambush instead of the one you’re expecting, it’s all the same.

There are the 2 types now, the normal ambush that is shown from the start and the disguised ambush that starts as it was another objective.

If this was the last patch I would be infuriated, as ambush generally took longer in a lot of long maps with phew mobs.
But I guess this new disguised ambush comes to be more thematically accurate and in a time where they are making maps smaller and spawning more monsters.
So I think it’s no problemm with the new patch.
For the phew hours I have played it was ok, overall didn’t take any longer than other objectives
