I’ve already read that the old online characters will move to the “standard realm” on launch, but what isn’t entirely clear to me is how new characters will behave then.
Do new characters after 1.0 release also belong to said standard realm e. g. I can play with my buddys with the character I play currently or does a “1.0 season” start immediately together with the launch completeling separating the new characters from standard realms.
This would determine how much time I still invest at the moment. I’d like the idea to be able to help them out with my beefed up character but I could also understand if it would be a completely decoupled “first season”.
It depends whether you create them as a seasonal or standard character. If you created them as a standard character in 1.0 then they’ll be a standard character. If you created them as a seasonal character in 1.0 they’ll be a seasonal character up to the end of the season.
It’ll work how one expects it to work based on the other games.
You can look at it this way: all character your created so far, and the ones you create before 1.0, are legacy/standard characters. Once 1.0 hits, you can choose either legacy or cycle. Each realm only interacts with other characters from same realm, until the cycle ends and cycle characters are also moved to legacy.
Sure, and there’s also SSF in both variants.
I don’t have an issue with the word realm. We have to call it something and realm seems more thematic than game mode.
