Regarding the 0.9.1 hype

I understand there were a lot of things in the 0.9.1 patch that a lot of Last Epoch players were very excited for. I don’t at all want to diminish the very obvious effort and good work that has gone into the game, and I do think that it shows.
However, for myself, both the 0.9 and 0.9.1 patches haven’t really brought anything of interest to me personally. I’m not particularly interested in the online play, and I didn’t really have any complaints about the campaign content or graphics as they stood, aside from a few of the optimization issues that have been addressed.
So, far from hyped, I’m pretty disappointed. I know that a Shaman rework has been talked about since the druid patch. I feel like Sorcerer is a pretty stale mastery carried by a few very strong abilities. The behaviour of the Necromancer minions feels pretty poor compared to other ARPG titles I’m familiar with. I think when I make a build, I like to work off of abilities first, and find uniques that fit with them, rather than building around uniques. I understand that it might not be logistically possible, but being unable to use MTXs offline is also disappointing since I don’t really like having a bunch of people buzzing around in towns between areas where I’m playing actively, since it detracts from the restfulness of them for me. I’m also not really invested in the story. I don’t want to take away from other people enjoying it, but I have never found a video game story to be compelling enough for me to be very invested in it, and I prefer other mediums for that kind of thing.
Again, I’m not trying to put down or take away from all the great work you have done, but it has been more than a year since anything remotely interesting to me has been added to the game, and perhaps through my own fault, I have primed myself with selfish expectations. But, I thought it might be appropriate to post about it as feedback, so thank you for taking the time to read it.

I’m kinda in the same boat as you. The only changes in this new patch that actually do something for me are bug fixes.

I agree as well. All the things are nice but its not what the game really needs which is more content. Guess they will see that people will stop playing the game after the patch quite early.

Yeah there are multiple classes that need balancing patches, hopefully your class will get some love soon. When Rogue released, its tree showed how far EHG has come in making a class. That knowledge needs to be done for the other classes.

Hi, i understand your frustration. The positive takeaway from the patch should be that content drops are coming more regularly now since the multiplayer break and polishing.

The new uniques and weavers will have the potential to excite everyone and shake up builds.

If this is not for you, surely something will come soon since 1.0 is expected for this year and there will likely be a bigger patch in between.

I am in the same boat here as well.

Patch 0.9.0 was in many ways a downgrade or side-grade and not a pure upgrade in all regards.
But I also reckon that they need to restore some of the things that broke in 0.9.0 compared to 0.8.5.

Patch 0.9.1 will also only be interesting to me potentially, with some of the new uniques.
From the 15 that will be added only 6 has beem spoilered.

So there are 5 more Weaver and 4 more general uniques left, that potentially could be really exciting.

Apart from that the last 2 patches also didn’t had a lot for me personally.

The timing of Patch 0.9.1 is also quite unfortunate, because they pumped this patch out very quickly (which on one side is good because of the 1 year content drought), but on the other side it is a littel bit too fast, because they wanted to release the patch before D4 release, to at least stay relevant and make soem small waves.

With a couple more weeks work there maybe would have been one more feature added, who nows.

Since Judd mentioned “1.0 later this year” in the 091 patch video, I am assumign we get 092 and hten 1.0 this year.
So my hope is that 092 and 1.0 will bring us big chunks of new stuff, that they already have been worked on in the background.

Realy? Did I overread this or was this only mentioned in a stream or discord again?

If EHG want’s to keep the release later this year we’ll see far more patches in much faster sequence then before because there is a lot of stuff to repair and balance and a lot of blanks to fill.

They didn’t officially state that, its just assumption from me.

But I am fairly certain that I am correct with this one, because EHG knows that they can’t compete with D4 PR budget, so they need to stay in the talks.

Release this year however was mentioned officially in the patch video for 091

I’m rahter active on the Blizz information channels right now and the people in the D4 Dorums for example talk a lot about LE. Most of the time to compare it to mechanics or to shit on it but so far LE is always making small waves in the spheres of D4 and PoE.

With this in mind I don’t think their intention was to throw this out asap.
