I’m using an Acolyte with Infernal Shade + the Devour in Flames & Soulfire specialization nodes (making Infernal Shade minion targetable and unlimited duration).
I have the default maximum of 4 shades.
I have 4 minions, each with an Infernal Shade attached to them.
Action: I cast Infernal Shade targeting one of these minions.
Expected behavior: a new Infernal Shade is attached to the target minion, replacing its existing shade. I should still have 4 minions and 4 shades, one attached to each minion.
Actual behavior: first, a different infernal shade is removed from a random minion I did not target. Then the targeted minion’s shade is replaced as expected. I now have 4 minions, but only 3 shades.
So it seems that the act of casting an Infernal Shade requires “shade capacity”. This is unintuitive, but mostly just annoying. Targeting minions to cast spells is not easy, and trying to find the one minion without an Infernal Shade attached can be frustrating.
Thank you!
