I’m playing new offline because the online servers were a bit flaky at launch. Not missing online at all and I’m really enjoying Patch 1.1 so far - my character doesn’t feel half as squishy as patch 1.0.
I was skeptical about the breadth of nerfs, and can’t adequately address that as I’m still on my first character, however so far the playthrough of 1.1 is going a LOT better than 1.0.
Kudos to the dev team - now all that needs to happen is the whiney babies need to take a nap and come back after they’ve slept!
Yep. The development of the game is quite slow, a bit too slow I sometimes feel, but: Mostly everything is moving in the right direction, which often isn’t the case for other games.
I’m also very happy with the servers and performance atm.
Started together with a friend yesterday and only had 2 dcs in the first hour. Really enjoyed coop for the first time without any long loading screens.
Now everything runs smooth, before i always had problems on EU server.
They’ve been pretty decent since 1.1 launched. I think I had 1 dc yesterday.
Offline still is very nice if you plan to only play alone with a certain character…
No delays in transitions (still better than well-working servers), travel skills in town, instant-pause anytime…
Well, I’m a chronic altohlic so after I’m happy with the progression of this character I’ll be playing others, but they’ll probably be offline as well. There just isn’t any compelling reason I can see to play online yet as I’m sort of a loner anyway and have no interest at all in leaderboards or e-peens of any type.
My son does this, but I’ve never been able to get it going. I play one character and that’s it. When he stops progressing at a normal rate, I’m done with the game. My son however loves loves loves starting over for some reason.
I’m also an altoholic. The joys of alt creation is simply watching a new build come online and slowly become ready to do endgame.
In fact, I usually drop characters (though many times I return to them later) once they reach empowered monos, even though they still have lots of progression available.
But the build itself won’t change much from then on, so I’m happy with it and want to watch a new build evolve.
It’s just a personal preference. And LE caters to both playstyles.
I can see that. The only time I really created any number of “alts” is in D3. That game just clicked for me. I think I have 1300 hours in it. But even then, my 5 alts were all the same class (Witch Doctor), just in different sets, all max level.
So I suppose it’s also safe to say that when I pick a class, that’s my class. I don’t really have an interest in anything else. I’m going to play some sort of caster, and away I go.
I think however, that one of the reason my son likes alts so much is he doesn’t read guides or anything. He just rolls a character and makes his own way. There’s something to that… not knowing that certain builds are just better. To him it’s just fun to play the game itself…
The only wrong way to play the game is the one in which you don’t enjoy yourself.
the game was down for maybe like 30 minutes for me other then that not even a single error or crash. i am enjoying aswell ! good job EHG
