Raxx's "State of Last Epoch" S3

Wanted to comment on Raxx’s video since he carries a lot of weight in the ARPG community:

Points I agree with:

  • Pets pick up gold - Agree
  • Auto pick up shards? - Actually, Pets could also pick up shards along with the player as a happy medium solution.
  • Cursor options - Agree
  • More random spice in the game - Agree
  • Arena’s and Dungeons can be significantly improved - Strongly Agree

Points I disagree with or question:

  • Runes of shattering removal? - Disagree
IMO - You shouldn’t give players that much potential power in the early game, players should understand crafting and pay attention to affixes and make decisions on what is good or not. Its a core part of the game.

Maybe only unlock a “Salvage all” option at level 70?
If such option is implemented, you should also add:

  • Mark item “As Favorite” so you can’t salvage it accidentally (as in Diablo IV)
  • Mark item “As Junk” for “Salvage All” option

Would actually like "Mark item “As Favorite” regardless to help special or crafted on items stand out more. This might also help with a possible future “Armory” feature

My thoughts and/or Wish list:

  1. I would very much prefer that EHG focus on finishing the campaign and polishing the rest of the game to bring all content to the level of Season 2/3 graphically.

  2. Adding or enhancing existing content (Arena’s and Dungeon’s) for more end-game would also be welcome. It seems like everyone skips these and mostly stays in Monoliths.

  3. Adding another class (Warrior) - Could encompass Barbarian/Monk/?

I’m really missing the Barbarian, Monk and Demon Hunter classes… Warrior class? (Pick 3 best mastery options to match the rest of the class structure) - Whatever fits best

Warrior:

  • Slayer (Barbarian) **** D3
  • Monk (Fists and Elements) ** D3
  • Amazon (Spirit born) ** D4
  • Mercenary (Fun with Guns) *** D3 Demon Hunter / POE2

I’m also good with 4 months between seasons (3 is too short and not realistic for continued new content creation) - Quality over quantity for sure, no D4 copy/paste content!

In closing:
Thank you EHG for your continued efforts and making a great game!

Everyone agrees with this, even the devs. It’s just a limitation of Unity. The proper way to do this in-game doesn’t exist with Unity and there’s a hacky way to do it but which isn’t a good solution.
Devs are working on it, if they find a workaround (or if Unity finally implements this feature that has been asked for for years) they’ll do it.

Frequent question on Mike’s stream. He’s always said we’ll most likely get new masteries sooner than a new class. Mostly because it’s much easier to implement.
For a new mastery, you just need a passive tree and 5 skills.
For a new class, you’ll need at least 2 passive trees (the general one and one per mastery), at least 8 general skills, 4 general passive tree skills, then 5 more skills per mastery.
That is a very tall order, even if you release a class with just 2 masteries.

So we’ll most likely first see new masteries for the existing classes.
One he often says he would like added to the game is a bow wielding primalist.
And Barbarian, of course, is the most requested by players.

Good points, I’m just about finished with my first run of Act 10, and its awesome! The devs did a fantasic job here

Agree wholeheartedly about Barbarian. Another class I’d love to see is some form of the Grim Dawn Demolitionist. I guess I’ll have to wait until throwing weapons/devices are added to the game, though.

Fix MG first and then talk about the rest.
We were promise a game with a living economy and what we get is dupes and gold cap.

You can play fire flask and explosive trap right now, it’s already in-game. In fact I played it to 93 in season now, it’s super solid, falconer variant; traps throw fire flasks and falcon also throws fire flasks, with 0 mana cost from 2x T7 rings, you gain mana when you traps throw the flasks, so you can sustain trap throwing forever.
Easily does 200 to 500k with only 1 LP gear, according to the ingame tooltip (1 flask = 200k, 2 traps thrown per throw, each trap throws 1 flask, and “trap sprinkler” makes each trap throw more traps on detonation).

Decoy with the Blastic Agent Relic also acts like a big bomb (: Although I don’t use it.
Ballistas exist, shadows throw your traps and throwing attacks too. It’s in a good state in general.

Trickster also made a good lightning chakram blade-dancer guide on youtube, you can actually beat endgame things with it too.
