Here’s in my personal opinion the rating of each LE season + launch. I’ve listed a bunch of categories I think are important for the success of a season. Pretty much in descending order, but I’ve not applied any weights to them for the total.
Launch: Awesome of course and everything is mostly new, because I didn’t play in-depth in EA. But plagued by Server instability.
Season 1: Kind of shallow.
Season 2: A banger.
Season 3: Didn’t like the Rift Beasts then, don’t like them now.
Season 4: Again kind of shallow. But somehow I had more fun? The item corruption were a positive surprise. The Echo Chains should be removed imo: Useless and redundant.
EHG is really missing out on points in “Meta Shakeup” each season. It would be a quick win, improving this category.
Season 2: The Woven Faction, Weaver Tree, Tombs and Cemeteries, Woven Echoes, New Bosses, Sentinel Rework, Heartseeker, Champion Enemies and Affixes, Woven Offering, New Crafting Materials, New Items and Uniques, Mastery Respec, Set Item Crafting, Inventory Tabs, Dungeon Key Charms, WASD Beta Support, Aberroth / Uber Aberroth
Season 3: New Campaign Chapter, Primordial Uniques and Exalted, Lich and Necro Rework, QoL: BM Minions, Offline Cosmetics, MG Tokens and Search, Rift Beast
Season 4: Omen Windows, Idol Altars, Corrupted Items, Echo Chains, 2 New Rogue Skills, New Unique and Set Items
I started in season 1 right before season 2 dropped so can’t rate it. Season 2 was my learning season so it was really fun and all new content for me so very high/10.
Season 3 - I liked the new stuff, still do. Still learning the game a bit but dropping off a lot due to rng/luck being higher in LE than any other arpg 7/10
Season 4 - Actually love the idol layouts. Enjoy omens/chains. Like Blade Storm. Hate rend and the OP rogue set. Hate the new amulet and double conversions are OP. even single ones are OP. Balance is disgusting. LOVE set crafting. Imprint nerf - digusting. Nem farming - disgusting 99% seals brick the already horrible RNG craft in LE. Left early for the first time in LE. Hate fractured boss - its just shade in a different area. Don’t think it can get worse than this 3/10 because - set craft and idol layouts/enchants saved it from being a 1.
Which ones would they be? The attribute conversions are a bit weird because you still get some benefits of the original but you can’t convert Strength into Brutality into one of the others (which is what a double conversion would be, like how in PoE you can convert 100 Phys into 100 Cold & that 100 Lightning into 100 Cold).
Season 1 - 6/10: Connectivity was pretty bad. Game was ok.
Season 2: 6/10: Small update in content. Game became more stable.
Season 3: 8/10: Big jump in content. Game got more streamlined.
Season 4: 6/10: Small update in content. Game interactions start to become cleaner.
The overall arc that I see positively improving cross seasons is that the different activities in the game start to add “almost” up to a meaningful critical mass.
We are “not yet there”, nor I know if we will reach anywhere; competition seems quite strong out there.
What is clear is that there are at least two more steps ahead of us [0.5 and the expansion] and so far, despite limitations, EHG is not doing much worse than the competition.
Looking forward for the future while enjoying what we already have at the present.
Season 2 : Very fuuuuun, my favorite i think, so much hype.
Season 3 : Hmm it’s ok, i don’t like so much beast rift but it’s a good season.
Season 4 : Disappointed, i hate corrupted item (too much rng, very too much),
I would have preferred never to have played it, it turned me off the game.
Atm : Balancing is not good (not terrible but please no one test new balance class ?), building start to be very low, no many option. Where is Marksman please ? and finally im bored each time to got one class is given prominence, while the others are ignored.
For me LE fell of a cliff since .8 so it’s a 1/10 for me for at least putting up some effort. Sure some things tingled my wish to play the game but in the big picture LE failed hard from my point of view. but that’s just silly me so have fun debating what is fun to you .
Rampancy and Brutality specifically - I don’t play much of the other classes but when combined with str/vit stacking this ammy is insanely OP - you can just throw it on with some different crappy items that just have attris on + julra rings and kill uber very very easily because you’re also getting up to 20 str/vit from the ammy too so 200 ramp, 200 brut, shattered world with 80% or more frenzy + frenzy belt and joke city~
Corruption on ammys I avoided on most of my builds too because you end up with a random conversion not a stat and it ends up being something horrible like guile which just bricks your item completely lol
This specific conversion type I PERSONALLY (personally as in my thoughts if you have your own great) is that it should be 1 max - ramp or brut or whatever. I think they also need a slight nerf in power.
But those are two separate conversions vit->rampancy & str-> brutality, double conversion would be converting vit->str (or vice versa) and then both vit & str to rampancy & brutality, like how PoE handles damage conversion. What you’re describing is a specific amulet that allows for both single conversions to happen at the same time which normally wouldn’t be able to happen.
I probably have to rank below having played since beta. Still solid 7 or so overall, nothing crazy that blows me away but go back to playing this game since it’s in the middle of D4 an PoE.
I might understand what you’re saying (whats new I can’t read ya know) the amulet as it is now converts str to brutality and same time vitality to rampancy - converting both of those at the same time is crazy strong - not sure if you’ve seen any of the builds floating round that stack str/vit - its very easy to do with julras as you get 48 str on each ring whilst using the movement buff - you move in and spam a few seconds and your uber/boss fights are very short lived. I think the double up is used on a few caster builds too (diff stats) - what I am saying is I feel the ammys should only allow ONE stat change so either str to brut or vit to ramp or whatever stats it converts too. I hope that makes more sense? I always reply at 6am half asleep so who knows
