And that is a big difference to me . In PoE you can upgrade a base to the highest rarity while you get mostly a bad rare out of it in LE. In LE there are exalted items that drop that are better then anything you can craft from the getgo. This is rather opposing for me.
Higher rarity items in Le simply make less rare items obsolate give or take an exalt here and there when there is no fitting Legendary item for a certain slot.
It’s good that you notice comparisons, but I mentioned usage of specifically rare items in itself and their step function In LE it’s bad and can be improved, in poe it’s too bad(i hate identification system) but at lease rare items have building value in endgame
That is why I said “gear progression in PoE is craft based and in LE it’s drop based”
It’s a difference in philosophy based on how the devs want you to play the game. Properly handled, neither is better or worse in itself, it will just appeal to some players more than others.
Yes, but in PoE rare items are the last step in gear progression. Not so in LE. In LE that’s exalted. So exalted gear in LE occupy the same space as rare gear in PoE. And rares, magic and common occupy the same space as magic and common in PoE, with the exception of crafting uses.
I don’t think you’re understanding (or I’m not). Exalted items are the rares from other games. Rares in LE are the same as magic items in other games.
Rare items in LE have the same value as magic items in other games, being a tier that isn’t the last one. There’s no need to give more value to gear that has become obsolete by the next tier.
Hey Everyone! Just checking up on conversations, and thought “Uses for lower rarity items? Well, isn’t this the perfect opportunity for a random Season 3 teaser?!”
As a bonus part of this teaser: This item considers items with 2 or less non-sealed Affixes, regardless of the tier of that affix, as Magic rarity. So exalted items still work for it, even if it’s 2x Exalted + Sealed Exalted
The buffed rare items you’re looking for are called exalteds.
Why on earth wouldn’t you?
Because your loot filter is too lax, have you seen how much irrelevant crap drops in PoE?
TBF, we do have a rune that makes items into uniques, I’m not entirely sure how “op” one that makes an items into an exalted would be given how many exalteds you get later on, especially as CoF.
That would depend on how it’s implemented. Turning an item into an exalted basically means that you turn a T5 into a T6+.
So if it’s done via a glyph that has a chance to increase an affix past T5, it might eventually be really strong.
If it’s done via a rune that will randomly pick one affix and turn it into exalted, then it might be fine, depending on the rarity.
As long as it’s about the same rarity of RoA, I think a rune of Exaltedizingness would actually be a handy tool, especially to get those rare affixes on those rare bases.
And it would give more use to rare items like the OP wanted.
On the other hand, managing exalted drops in CoF is already kinda exhausting with all the possible potentially good drops for other characters. I think I would hate having to also manage rares. I would rather just filter them out.
This is going to be fun with Hollow lich. Put T7 flat + life leech on an item and that’s 200 or so total flat damage + 400% increased damage with a good roll. With three magic items that’s doubled for 400 flat and 800% increased melee damage.
I am here to politely request you run these descriptions through a spelling checker. Getting “its” and “it’s” wrong is not only a pet peeve of mine but it also just looks unprofessional.
The problem with that is that a spell checker wouldn’t catch it, as it’s not a error in spelling but an error in usage. Running them all through a spell checker is definitely something that should be done if they aren’t already doing that, but in this case it needs a grammar checker.
I just double checked, and thankfully this has already been fixed during the localization pass, it just wasn’t in for the capture of the item card, sorry!
I adore this (reference for those who know), but for real such a cool idea. I dont care the numbers are over or undertuned, i just love the concept of it, and hopefully if balanced correctly it will be one of the best items in the game in the very endgame when you’re trying to go for T21 exalts, that would be really awesome
Okay in my mind rares can be T20, exalts can be in theory T28. If you can ramp up rare items you add alot of loot. If it just changes the rarity and nothing else who cares? If it is an option to get power even faster or increasing the chance to get that super exalted item things change. On top of it the next question is the FP cost. If it is an item that needs all FP so you can’t change anything and you need a drop then maaaaaaaybe. If this rune turned white bases in random Exalt items I have no issues with it. Dropping a rare item with a ton of FP that I can spin arround untill I have the affixes I want and then slam a rune on it that makes it the perfect exalt… I’m against it.
Sooner or later blue items drop that makes white items mostly obsolate, sooner or later yellow items drop that make white and blue items mostly obsolate and so on and so forth. Call me crazy but I think this is a good thing and a rather clear progression.
