Random temporal anomaly zones in maps

In a game, which I shall not name, there’s this mechanic that sometimes randomly spawns a corrupted zone entrance in a random corner of a map.
This zone has random dangerous modifiers, has an amazing aesthetic and feel to it, and the local boss drops corrupted gear, which has pretty unique stats.

Now, in Last Epoch, often when I wander around the beautiful zones, I have this feeling of emptiness and waste.
I know this is an ARPG, and it’s (apparently) supposed to be a mindless grind, but I would love if the zones had something more to them, aside from the cannon fodder mobs.

My idea is similar to the corrupted zones from the game above - a kind of temporal anomaly area in a zone, which you enter and you are suddenly in the Ruined Era for example, and you need to clear that area and kill the boss, so the anomaly can be remedied and closed.
I think this will breathe a bit more life to all the beautifully crafted zones, would invite more exploration from the players and add a desire to always reveal the whole map.
