Questions about the Shield - Bastion of Honour: "Nearby"

It says “+100% block chance against Nearby Enemies”.

  1. If an enemy casts a full screen AOE skill on me, does this affix still work if I stand nearby it? For example, the full screen explosive skills cast by dungeon boss Julra, or Emperor of Corpses (Necrotic Dragon)?
  2. When it says “nearby”, what exactly is the radius?

  2. Roughly the size of the circle around the training dummy.

The shield also puts a circle around your character what you equip it.
