Seeing as this game has been out now for what a year or close to.
How come there is a lack of cosmetics? Seeing as now the game is no longer a EA game anymore.
Looking through the cosmetic store - Things like skill cosmetics aren’t even available, even tho its something we can equip in our cosmetic inventory. Browsing over the store as well, The same cosmetics have been there since pre release and post re lease. Whats the point in having a cosmetic store, if you tend to neglect it like you have neglected the game.
Skill MTX are coming in Season 2 (including a few as twitch drops). At least player titles will as well. I assume more MTX of many types will also be added.
Because the game was quite prematurely released in my opinion.
That should tell everything related to missing Campaign Acts, lack of MTX which is so important for a game of the genre or balancing issues since it hasn’t gotten a proper balancing pass before release like one would expect.
I won’t say there is a lack of MTX. There is simply no overflow on cosmetics that we are used to from other games. I rather have a developer working on the game rather then MTX.
The bigger issue for my personal taste is that everything looks like crap so i see no reason to buy anything anyway. A few high quality options > a lot of crap options. Then again this is a question of taste and I understand if people are unhappy if they can’t buy more stuff they find pleasing.
I mean the MTX will fund their piggy bank - like it says on the cosmetic store window. why have it in the game and have the game in full release. And not bother to add to it.
Personally just a sign to me that its amongst the struggles.
Probably because the launch gave them a very comfortable monetary cushion and it allowed them to increase the team and focus on the things that are more important to all the players, which is the game mechanics, rather than the things that only a small minority will use, which is MTX.
I actually take it as a good sign. It means they don’t need to be pushing MTX down the players throats and can focus on the gameplay instead.
Vanity sales usually tend to beat out shelf-price over time. Especially if a nice variety of styles is there.
The downside is file size bloat and potential FPS issues depending on how they’re made. Also visibility ones for skills.
A release tends to provide a single boost… but not having had any meaningful increases in MTX has baffled me since the first day of 1.0, as it’s how EHG will need to sustain themselves in the long term. Supporter Packs + singular sales.
That is pretty much exactly what I said. They got a big monetary cushion, so they managed to grow and focus on gameplay for a while without having to worry yet about the long term.
Now skill MTX is coming with Season 2, along with other MTXs and things are going back to the expected.
