So I decided to level up a new character and picked Merchant Guild for the first time. I leveled to 76 and finally went to MG to try and sell some of the idols and things I found along the way. to my suprise almost all my items have “Cannot be traded” in the lower right corner of them. Specifically I was looking to sell a lot of the idols I found farming tombs and cemetaries. yet almost all of them say “Cannot be traded” in the lower right corner. only a very few don’t say that and those are super crappy idols. What gives ??? Im rank 6 all of my good items say “Cannot be traded” on them and as suchs MG for me right now is worthless because I can’t rank up because I can’t sell anything I can’t buy useful gear because im too low rank… am I missing something here. Shouldn’t I be able to sell anything I find as a MG player???
That would be because your other character was CoF. CoF and MG are exclusive, so you can’t sell items that drop for CoF.
Otherwise it would force everyone to play CoF to be able to sell in MG, since you get a lot more drops that way.
You can only sell things that drop when your character is either MG or none of the 2.
Still confused… my first character is COF my second character is MG, I used separate tabs to keep the loot separate for what I found on my MG character vs what I found on my COF. Are you saying if you start any character COF you basically can’t play MG at all???
No he didn’t say that, and that doesn’t happen either. He actually presumed you were trying to sell items you had found on your previous CoF character.
I guess you’re supposed to be able to sell all items you find when you’re not in a faccion yet, or are in MG already. While in CoF, you cannot sell any, even if they don’t have the CoF tag on them.
So it’s either a bug, or you may have mixed items there.
Yeah, what F0lk said. Only items that drop from CoF characters have the cannot trade flag. Every other is sellable.
So you either mixed them up and are trying to sell something you got from your CoF character (most likely), or you have a bug (less likely, since it’s the first time I’ve seen anyone complain about it).
Hmmmm interesting … I will try some more testing but I just ran another cemetery on my MG character I dropped a health elemental resist idol and it immediately says “cannot be traded” in the lower right corner. I definitely think something is buggy with it.
That does sound like a bug. Probably something strange going on with the new content if you have both factions or something?
You should try reporting it with the in-game tool.
