Question about marksman passive concetration

does the concetration passive work? i dont notice my dmg going up when i put a point on it. do i get something wrong about how the passive works?

A single point is 2%. That is not exactly a huge impact.

Or do you spec all 8 points?

i speced 5 point and the damage is the same on the tooltip

i am a bladedancer btw i dont know if it matters tho

It’s always active unless you get hit by a mob within a few meters, then it goes on cooldown. I’ve definitely noticed the reduction in dodge when you loose it with the relevant node.

my dmg goes down if i loose it. but when i put a point on it my dmg does not go up thats the problem. it goes down when i get hit and then it goes up after 4 sec. but i have the same numbers as if i havent the passive. if i have 20k dmg on shadow cascade before concetration if i put 8 points on it i still have 20k dmg. but with the passive when i get hit it goes down to lets say 18k and after 4 sec it goes up to 20k, i dont get more dmg from the passive

Tooltip damage is very unreliable. Don’t focus on that. Try to focus on the damage numbers you do instead.

i will try that thanks

i dont notice any dmg increase. my lowest and highest crit are about the same. i think a 16% dmg increase would be noticable

Working as intended. This is easy to test using Hail of Arrows because it is a DoT skill, so it cannot crit and all ticks do a fixed amount of damage.

Just tested this and it sure seems like a 14% damage increase shown in the screenshots.
First one is with only 1 point in Concentration. The second is with 8 points in it.

well since i am a bladedancer and not using hail of arrows i wonder if the passive only works for bow abilitys

Just focus on the damage numbers popping up on monsters / training dummies. 2% more damage because you put in another point will be barely visible, but if you go for a 7 points difference, you will clearly see it.

I barely ever consider tooltip DPS, as they are quite unreliable in most games. Never tells you the whole picture.

Even worse… many times the tooltip misleads the players, showing very inflated numbers on certain skills because it accounts the attack speed even if the skill has a cooldown.

i did put 8 point on it and didnt notice any difference but my dmg is all over the place anyways. with no buffs at all my cascade may crit for 30k or 50k and i dont have and rhythm of flury stack at all i am waiting for the buffs to run out

Ah yes, you made me do it…
So, after some more testing, it seems that Concentration is, indeed, only applying if you’re wearing a Bow, not necessarily using a bow attack.

I did three rounds of tests two times, one time with 1 point in concentration and the other with 8.

First, 1 poison stack wearing a dagger.

1 Concentration:

8 Concentration:

Then 1 poison stack wearing a bow.

1 Concentration:

8 Concentration:

Then I tried using a throw attack, which doesn’t change it’s type depending on the equipped weapon (i.e it will not count as a bow attack if you’re wearing a bow) and I found the exact same pattern: if wearing a bow, concentration is applied to the poison from Acid Flask. If wearing any other weapons, concentration does not apply.

Gosh, I hate when people make me do it then I find out that it is indeed not functioning.
But thanks, I also love testing and discovering those things.

fianally :stuck_out_tongue: sry for making you test it :stuck_out_tongue: would be nice if the passive said only applies to bows tho… then again the dodge and movement apply normaly so maybe its a bug who knows

Either that or it’s a bug and should apply to other weapons. Either way should be reported because it’s not working as it should.

i did make a bug report. thanks to everyone for the replies and to folk for taking the time to test it

It’s either a text bug (missing the “only applies if using a bow”) or it’s the other type of bug (should be active while using melee weapons but isn’t).
