Yes, the only oddity is that 200% crit multi is actually a x2 modifier rather than 300% as most people doing the maths would expect (& the rest of the game deals with multipliers).

I still don’t know why people think this sometimes.

Simply said, the Critical Strike multiplier is:

How much damage in total a critical hit is doing

Not

How much extra damage a Critical Hit is doing

Because they’re doing the maths differently in different places with the same % numbers.

With % more & % increased the maths is Base x (1 + %), with crit multi it’s Base x %. If they removed the % from it & just had it as x2, that’d be fine & easily understandable.

Eh? 200% of X is 2X.

People thinking it should be 3X don’t know how maths works.

It’s not about how the math works, it’s about reading and understanding a stat and then applying the appropriate math to it.

I am not good at math, but still i don’t understand why people don’t understand it.

I mean even some of the veteran player do this wrong sometimes, so there is obviously somekind of issue.

Maybe the character sheet and game guide should be even more clear, dunno

Or they could just remove the % from it.

You mean Crit Multi = 2x?

And Stats on Items being ā€œ+ 0,8 Crit Multiā€ ?

Yes.

sigh minimum character requirements

One day we will have cool tooltips and every skill will simply show you its Crit % and Crit Multi

And the crit multi will still confuse people, especially if it’s along side other % modifiers.

That may be true but I have to say this very thread is the first ever I’ve heard that there are people ā€œsomewhereā€ who interpret 200% of something to mean 3x. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s very hard to find any reference, i searched through the forums a bit, since in most threads the crit multi was not the ā€œmainā€ subject, it’s hard to find examples, but i can assure you this got confused at least half a dozen times from various people hre on the forums.
