Quest Echoes: why dis?

I don’t think I get the purpose or function of the quest echoes in the monolith. I completed the 3 echoes and after finishing the last one it gave me an option to choose a lower level timeline or higher level timeline equal to my current level (I think). I was 66 at the time and my options were 62 or 66 iirc. After that I think the stability was reset and I got 3 more quest echoes.

However, the quest echoes are the same as before (level 58) so I don’t understand what choosing the level of the timelines was for? Also, what is the purpose of these echoes exactly? Is it better loot? Is it just some story for added flavor? Not sure I get the point of doing them over doing normal monolith echoes.

When you complete the third quest echo, you unlocked another timeline :slight_smile:

You can find this by going to the End of Time and looking at your map view.

You will see that there are a number of islands with waypoints.

At each timeline monolith, completing the quest echoes unlocks bridges between the islands.

If you unlock and complete all 3 level 90 timelines (in the top right), you can unlock and empowered level 100 version of all of them :slight_smile:

Ahhh. I didn’t even realize that bridge thing happened. Like completing the quest gave me no indication that was happening. Thanks for the info. So there is a new web of nodes for each of these islands? Are the webs connected somehow or all separate? Should I try to “complete” each one or try to move to farther islands as fast as possible? This answer created so many more questions!

All separate webs :slight_smile:

The generally recommended strategy is to push right path as hard as possible, complete the level 90s and unlock the empowered level 100 monoliths. The rewards there are better.

I tend to do all of them because I like to complete the 10/10 quest. :smiley:

Oh ok. That’s sort of what I was thinking that it might be better to get to 100 faster. What is the 10/10 quest and is that something you can only do before unlocking empowered 100?

There’s a quest marker to unlock all 10 timelines. Check on right hand side of the map.

I don’t think you have to do it before empowered and there aren’t any significant rewards for it… maybe some xp and gold.

I’m just a bit of a completionist.
