I just had major back surgery (titanium disks and triggering Airport security in my future) last week and in three weeks I have to have another one to finish what was starterd so I’ll be sitting on my ass a lot over the next few months. Again we see changes that are very timid. Some are good but where it truly matters the changes are very timid showing that unlike what EHJ is saying that everyone loves minions, EHJ hates minions and doesn’t wants minions to ever be good.

Starting with the good, the changes to AI behavior in regards to them sticking to the target and attacking from greater distance is a very welcome change. This has been an issue since forever but not really the big issue with minions, just one of the many.

The changes to the marketplace are good, the tokens are also good but it is again a timid change. If tokens are only possible to get from leveling up which comes at a very slow rate and are as such very, very limited in how many we get them as well as when we get them, this will accomplish nothing at all. The issue is getting what we need when we need which is locked behind favor. Imagine if you will that people go to trade so they can get the gear they otherwise would never even have a chance of finding due to RNG how much much the average player can play per day. You now tell the player he can buy it but he has to spend the kind of time he already doesn’t has to farm in order to level the guild so he can trade. Trade still doesn’t accomplishes the goal. Adding a single black market token which is the most important one and only at level 6 is the same as saying, you still get nothing.

Lastly the minion changes where it now scales a bit higher with level. These are small changes, minions were already dying once we hit empowered like they are made out of wet paper and you give them a barely noticeable damage reduction and a barely noticeable amount of damage which was also a problem because again, minions are doing nothing once we hit empowered. In fact we needed to snapshot astronomical levels of damage for minions to even be able to kill white mobs once we hit empowered and you went and gave them 15% damage when 200% extra damage would still be lacking.

I really am losing all faith in EHJ to be able to take LE anywhere. You keep listening to the crowd that says, make the game harder despite that being the very thing that is causing people to abandon the game as soon as they hit empowered monos. You keep making these very timid changes afraid you will break the balance of the game when it has been obvious that minions are so undepowered that making the 3x stronger would still not even bring minions to a state where they can push corruption like any of the good builds (and I don’t mean the op builds that go over 1K corruption, I mean the good builds that can’t go past 800 with the absolute best gear).

You have just been bought out, that gave you the money you need but that money won’t last forever and investors won’t let you do what you want if profits don’t follow. When profits fail to follow because you are failing to make the game good they will start taking more direct control and because the reality is, those people have even less of a clue as to how to make a profitable game, the game will become even worse and die as a result.

Stop being timid in your approach to the balance. It is quite obvious that minions need huge buffs (some more than others), do what needs to be done already!

Can minions do Uby Abby now?

I love the extra damage reduction and damage for minions, that is a great buff. However, I really hope that individual minions get tweaked too. Because, for example, if I can no longer snapshot my wraithlord, than I would lose WAY more damage and survivability than this. But minion hoards didn’t snapshot anyways because they constantly resummoned the weak minions. So my point being, with snapshotting being removed, each minion is going to have to be buffed individually. . .

Funny thing is, the only minion that could do it before (Abomination) seems to have been buffed lol. But now there will be no snapshotting so idk if it will be possible anymore. . .

If we are talking a normal minion build, you’ll be surprised not to die left, right and center as soon as you hit empowered. These changes are beyond insufficient, they are a joke, a bad one.

The only hope is that the minions themselves get significantly buffed but with this kind of timid changes we’ve seen so far, I am not holding my breath.

that 's not true. Check out Pixel Aptitude videos on YT (dont wanna post direct links here). He got tons of minions builds videos and guides without using snapshotting at all. All doing 500-1000 corruption easily. I dont mean to say they are on par with meta sentinel or rogue builds of course but still those videos are before all the buffs 1.3 is introducing keep that in mind. and again - NO snapshotting

I did say normal minions. Sure an Abomination can technically make it far if you are an absurdly good player who can dodge everything. Your clear is garbage. There is a Wraith build that is also very strong and very carpal tunnel inducing. There is squirrels which yes are good but have a ton of pre-req, it’s not a good starting build, it’s something you make after you have had a character going on for a good while and farmed a lot of what you need.

A normal minion build is one where you summon your builds and just walk around, they kill everything, at best you might need to occasionally cast a buff or debuff which again, only squirrels can do which is not necro and requires a lot of pre-farmed gear.

I only responded to your statement that minion builds die left and right as soon as they hit empowered monos (100 corruption?) . Which is far from being true honestly.
I don’t say minons are in perfect state at the moment. Some of them better others are not good. Let’s see how they are played in 1.3. After all we have not yet seen the patchnotes. Maybe something important there as well

Perhaps I should have been more specific but I didn’t think it was needed. Sure, one minion army is fairly tanky, in fact the problem there is more you surviving than your minion but the average minion build for necromancer using skeleton archers, skeleton mages, 2 permanent wraiths, everything is made out of wet paper.

It’s a good thing to remove snapshotting ofc, but a 15% buff of minions doesn’t make up for that, so in the end playing minions is even harder (in higher corr at least). Although earthquake bear has some potential, depending on it’s cast speed.
