Puncture (Stay of Execution) as non-channeled

So I was trying to work out a build with Puncture recently and I realized that, the skill being considered a channeled attack, it won’t proc the buffs from Shift’s Hypovolemia, Jagged Cuts and (more importantly) Critical Opening. Or any other non-channeled proc in any skill tree anywhere.

Now given that the regular Pucture IS a channeled skill, I normally have no issue with that, but the problem is that when you pick the node Stay of Execution for Puncture it essentially stops being a channeled attack and instead becomes a charged attack. It has a finite effect that ends after one second, so I was thinking it might be interesting to add to Stay of Execution an extra little change that would do away with the “Channeled” label on the skill so it reflects a little more what it is. It’s just a suggestion, but it would make for more flexible builds.

It’s not. It only becomes a channelled skill if you take the Stay of Execution node. If you don’t have that then it’s not a channelled skill.

There is no “charged” skill in LE. Every skill that functions like that (eg, Smelter’s Wrath or Puncture with Stay of Execution) is a channelled skill.

But it is a channelled skill, you channel it for up to 1 second & then it automatically releases & does it’s thing. There is no “charged” tag or functionality. Im not saying it would be a bad idea, just that it’d be different to what it is at the moment (obviously, that being your point).
